The Purple Smurfs
''The Purple Smurfs'' (original French title: ''Les Schtroumpfs noirs'', "The Black Smurfs") is the first album of the original French-language ''Smurfs'' comic series created by Belgian artist Peyo. It was first published as an album in 1963, but the stories it contained had already been published in '' Spirou'' magazine. The main story ''Les Schtroumpfs noirs'' was first published in number 1107 (July 2, 1959) as the first "mini-récit" in the magazine. This was a special supplemental page which readers would remove and fold up in order to create a small booklet. Mini-récits were not included when the issues of Spirou were collected in the quarterly hardcover volumes, so this story is absent from volume 72 of Spirou, though the page containing instructions for creating the booklet is there. Éditions Dupuis S.A. () is a Belgian publisher of comic albums and magazines. Based in Marcinelle near Charleroi, Dupuis was founded in 1922 by Jean Dupuis, and is mostly famous for its comic albums and magazines. It is originally a French language publisher, but publishes many editions both in French and Dutch. Other language editions are mostly licensed to other publishers. Dupuis was for a long time a family business but was sold in the early 1980s and has since changed ownership a few times. Jynx
Jynx, known in Japan as , is a Pokémon species in Nintendo and Game Freak's ''Pokémon'' franchise. Created by Ken Sugimori, Jynx first appeared in the video games ''Pokémon Red'' and ''Blue'' and subsequent sequels, later appearing in various merchandise, spinoff titles, or animated and printed adaptations of the franchise. The character is voiced in the anime and other media in Japanese by Mayumi Tanaka and by Rachael Lillis in English. Papercutz Graphic Novels is an American publisher of family-friendly comic books and graphic novels, mostly based on licensed properties such as Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, and Lego Ninjago. Papercutz has also published new volumes of the Golden Age-era comics series ''Classics Illustrated'' and ''Tales from the Crypt''. Gargamel
Gargamel is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the '' Smurfs'' show and comic books. He is a wizard and the sworn enemy of the Smurfs. His main goals are to destroy the Smurfs, eat them, or transform them into gold. Appearance and personality Gargamel is portrayed as perpetually stooped, with a worn and patched robe and rotten teeth. He lives in a run-down but solidly built hovel with his mangy cat, Azrael. A hot air balloon is a lighter-than-air aircraft consisting of a bag, called an envelope, which contains heated air.
