The Charlatans are an English rock band formed in West Midlands, England in 1988. Timothy Allan Burgess (born 30 May 1967) is an English musician, singer-songwriter and record label owner, best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band the Charlatans. Early life Burgess was born in Salford, and grew up in Moulton, near Northwich, Cheshire. Career The Charlatans Burgess was initially the lead singer in The Electric Crayons (named after the psychedelic compilation album ''The Electric Crayon Set'', released on the Bam-Caruso record label), who released one single, "Hip Shake Junkie". Mark Vincent Collins (born 14 August 1965 in Barton-upon-Irwell, Lancashire) is an English musician, best known as a guitarist of the British alternative rock band The Charlatans. Married in summer 2022 to holly O’Connor, Irish woman from Tipperary. Career Collins attended school with future Oasis guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs. He began his music career in 1986 as guitarist with The Waltones, indie pop band based in Manchester. After the recording of their second album in 1990, drummer Alex Fyans left the group and the band relaunched themselves as Candlestick Park. The band split up a year later. "Friends Turbo" is a song by German electronic dance band Scooter, and the theme song to the German version of the Dutch film ''New Kids Turbo'', as well as the first single of their fifteenth studio album ''The Big Mash Up''. It was released on 15 April 2011, as a CD single and download release. It is a newer, updated version of their track "Friends" from 1995. Musical style and differences from the original The track is a return to Scooter's old happy hardcore style with influences from both gabber and hardcore techno. Unlike their recent work from the albums ''Under the Radar Over the Top'' and ''Jumping All Over the World'', which has been strongly influenced by hardstyle and jumpstyle, respectively, "Friends Turbo" has a much higher BPM, easily fitting into the happy hardcore genre.
