George Fitzmaurice
George Fitzmaurice (13 February 1885 – 13 June 1940) was a French-born film director and producer. Career Fitzmaurice's career first started as a set designer on stage. Beginning in 1914, and continuing until his death in 1940, he directed a total of over 80 films; several of these were successful, including ''The Son of the Sheik'', '' Raffles'', ''Mata Hari'', and '' Suzy''. At the beginning of his directorial career, Fitzmaurice was astute at directing stage actresses in their initial films with the first wave of great Broadway stars that migrated to motion pictures during the World War I era, including Mae Murray, Elsie Ferguson, Fannie Ward, Helene Chadwick, Irene Fenwick, Gail Kane, and Edna Goodrich. Ernest Lawford
Ernest E. Lawford (1870–1940) was an English stage and film actor. Biography Lawford made his theatrical debut in 1890 in London at the St James's Theatre in ''As You Like It''. Later he appeared in productions of ''Charley's Aunt'' and ''A Woman of No Importance''. In 1894 appeared in several plays with Arnold Daly at the Drury Lane Theatre. He toured the provinces with George Alexander. He made his first appearance in New York in 1903 and appeared with Arnold Daly in ''Candida''. He later signed with Charles Frohman and appeared as the first American Mr. Darling in ''Peter Pan'' with Maude Adams. He remained with Frohman in drawing room type plays. He appeared with Grace George in ''Major Barbara'' in 1915, ''The Circle'' in 1921 with John Drew and Mrs. Leslie Carter and a modern-dress version of ''Hamlet'' in 1925 with Basil Sydney. Richard Tucker (June 4, 1884 – December 5, 1942) was an American actor. Tucker was born in Brooklyn, New York. Appearing in more than 260 films between 1911 and 1940, he was the first official member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and a founding member of SAG's Board of Directors. Tucker died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles from a heart attack. He is interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in an unmarked niche in Great Mausoleum, Columbarium of Faith. Ouida Bergère (born Eunie Branch; December 14, 1886 – November 29, 1974) was an American screenwriter and actress. Biography Eunie Branch was born in Madrid, Spain, the daughter of Stephen W. and Ida Branch, both natives of Tennessee. Her early years were spent in Madrid, Paris and England.
