The Mouldy Lovers
The Mouldy Lovers are an Australian Queensland Music Award nominated musical group with seven members, which formed in early 2010. They perform gypsy-influenced ska music with punk, reggae, Romani music and Klezmer elements. The band came to prominence in 2011 with the release of their second extended play, ''Kakistocracy'', and frequent performances and festival appearances in Queensland and New South Wales. Their debut album, ''Yonder Ruckus,'' was released in January 2013, receiving national Australian airplay on Triple J and charting at number one for multiple weeks on 4ZZZ. The Woodford Folk Festival is an annual music and cultural festival held near the semi-rural town of Woodford, north of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Matt Hsu's Obscure Orchestra
Matt Hsu is a Taiwanese-Australian musician and composer who records and performs as Matt Hsu's Obscure Orchestra. Hsu was born in 1986 to immigrant Taiwanese parents in Brisbane. As a child he listened to metal and punk music, in an effort to distance himself from Asian stereotypes, but later embraced his Taiwanese heritage, using music to express overcoming internalised racism. In 2020, he became a Queensland Music Awards winner in the world music category and has been identified as "one of the freshest feeling projects in Australian music right now." Matt is also known as the co-founder, trumpet player and songwriter for the folk punk band The Mouldy Lovers. Piano Accordion
A piano accordion is an accordion equipped with a right-hand keyboard similar to a piano or organ. Its acoustic mechanism is more that of an organ than a piano, as they are both aerophones, but the term "piano accordion"—coined by Guido Deiro in 1910—has remained the popular name. Perisher Valley, commonly called Perisher, is a valley formed below Mount Perisher, a mountain that is located in the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. Located in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council, the valley is the site of one of four resort bases of the Perisher Ski Resort, which also comprises Guthega, Blue Cow and Smiggin Holes. Ian McFadyen (born 8 July 1948) is an Australian television writer, actor, director and producer.
