The Missing Man
''The Missing Man'' is an extended play by American rock band AFI. The EP was released on December 7, 2018. It is the first EP by AFI since ''336 EP/Now the World Picture Disk'', which was released in 2002. The EP was released through Ex Noctem Nacimur. On October 26, 2018, the single "Get Dark" was released as well as information about the EP. Background and release On October 25, 2018, all photos of AFI frontman Davey Havok were removed from the band's Instagram page and a new press photo was released with Havok missing; only a silhouette was present, sparking rumors he had left AFI. This rumor turned out to be false. The next day, the band surprise-released a new single called "Get Dark" on Spotify and iTunes. ''The Missing Man'' was released on December 7, 2018. AFI (band)
AFI (abbreviation for A Fire Inside) is an American rock band from Ukiah, California, formed in 1991. Since 1998, it consists of lead vocalist Davey Havok, drummer and backing vocalist Adam Carson, bassist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Hunter Burgan, and guitarist, backing vocalist and keyboardist Jade Puget. Havok and Carson are the sole remaining original members. Originally a hardcore punk band, they have since delved into many genres, starting with horror punk and following through post-hardcore and emo into alternative rock and gothic rock. AFI has released eleven studio albums, ten EPs, one live album and one DVD. Jade Errol Puget (born November 28, 1973) is an American musician and producer, best known as the guitarist for the rock band AFI (joined in 1998), the guitarist/writer for the straight edge hardcore band XTRMST, and the keyboardist/synthesizer operator for the electronic duo Blaqk Audio. Puget is vegetarian and straight edge. Career Before joining AFI on November 2, 1998, Jade Puget played in various bands, including Loose Change and Redemption 87. His first album with AFI was 1999's ''Black Sails in the Sunset''. The first song he wrote for the band was "Malleus Maleficarum". Puget's addition to the band introduced fans to a more melodically acute and dynamic sound that was vastly different from earlier material. AFI next released the ''All Hallow's E.P.'' in October 1999, which featured various elements of horror punk and a sound disparate from much of the band's earlier material.
