The Madcaps was an Austrian band that was founded before 1952 when it released "The Perfect Song" in Strasshof by Hans Kloiber. Strasshof
Strasshof an der Nordbahn (meaning ''Strasshof at the Northern railway''; Central Bavarian: ''Strasshof aun da Noadbauh'') is a satellite town 25 km east of Vienna, Austria. A historical locomotive built by LOFAG is displayed in the town. Geography Strasshof an der Nordbahn lies in Marchfeld in Lower Austria. About 21.08 percent of the municipality is forested. History Strasshof had about 50 inhabitants in 1900, and a railroad yard functioned from 1908 to 1959. In 1944, about 75 percent of 21,000 Hungarian Jews deported from a concentration camp at Strasshof survived due to an agreement between the Aid and Rescue Committee of Budapest and Adolf Eichmann. On 2 December 1944 the marshalling yard in "Straszhof" was targeted in a United States Army Air Forces bombing by the 47th Bombardment Wing. Georg Danzer
Georg Franz Danzer (7 October 1946, in Vienna – 21 June 2007, in Asperhofen, Lower Austria) was an Austrian singer-songwriter. Although he is credited as one of the pioneers of Austropop (most famous are his comic songs "Jö schau" (about a streaking, streaker at the Café Hawelka) and "Hupf' in Gatsch", both in Viennese German), he always refused to be part of this genre. Danzer was successful as a solo artist, but also in the group Austria3, along with Wolfgang Ambros and Rainhard Fendrich. Besides his music, he translated two books from Spanish into German, and was strongly involved in highlighting social inequalities, opposing racism and any form of societal discrimination, and the lifestyle of the bourgeoisie for all his life. Danzer was romantic, funny, socially engaged – and often a misfit. Having been a strong smoker for decades, he abstained from smoking after being diagnosed with lung cancer, but nevertheless died from the disease. His legacy includes some 400 songs. ...
