The Love Decree
Love Decree were a Scottish pop soul band composed of Robin Gow (keyboards/songwriter), Grant Macintosh (vocals/songwriter), Gordon Gow (percussion). They are best known for their single "Something so Real", which featured in the McEwan's Lager commercial, "Chinheads" in 1988. Formation Formed early in 1987 in Edinburgh, the band was originally a seven piece, composed of vocals, keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar, drums, percussion and saxophone. Following a meeting with a potential manager, the band moved to a rehearsal/residential base in Barrhead which resulted in the need for both the singer, drummer and guitar player to be replaced. A radio-based promotion campaign to find suitable replacements was launched and after several weeks of auditions, Grant Macintosh was chosen as vocalist, Paul Kane as drummer and Allan Harvey as Lead Guitarist. "Take On Me" is a song by the Norwegian synth-pop band A-ha. The original version, recorded in 1984 and released in October of that same year, was produced by Tony Mansfield and remixed by John Ratcliff. The 1985 international hit version was produced by Alan Tarney for the group's debut studio album, ''Hunting High and Low'' (1985). The recording combines synth-pop with a varied instrumentation, including acoustic guitars, keyboards, and drums. Black Box (band)
Black Box is an Italian house music group popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The group is currently made up of DJ Daniele Davoli, classically trained clarinet teacher Valerio Semplici, keyboardist and electronic musician Mirko Limoni, and vocalist Celestine Walcott-Gordon. French fashion model Katrin Quinol joined the act in 1989 and became the official face of Black Box, appearing on the cover of their single and album releases as well as in music videos, including the hit "Ride on Time", which was the highest-selling single of 1989 in the UK.
