The Loft (Sirius XM)
The Loft is an online and app-based music channel on Sirius XM Radio which features a format of eclectic adult album alternative music, occasionally branching off into more freeform music and talk programming. Until November 12, 2008, it broadcast an acoustic rock format. The Loft then changed formats to what sounded like the now-defunct SIRIUS Disorder and Fine Tuning stations by that time, with its sister channel, The Coffee House, adopting the acoustic rock format. Mike Marrone was the channel's program director and primary on-air voice until his retirement in December 2017. He was replaced by Chris Muckley, who is heard regularly alongside DJs such as Franny Thomas and Meg Griffin. In 2018, The Loft transitioned to an entirely online XM presence, as its former channel is now used for limited-engagement theme channels focused on specific artists, such as The Eagles and Billy Joel. Vincent Anthony Scelsa (born December 12, 1947, in Bayonne, New Jersey) is an American broadcaster who was at "the forefront of the FM radio revolution" as the host of several freeform radio programs, the best-known titled ''Idiot's Delight''. His eclectic mix of music, reviews, and lengthy interviews with authors and artists has established Scelsa as a fixture in late night New York City radio for decades. David Roger Johansen (sometimes spelled ''David Jo Hansen''; born January 9, 1950) is an American singer, songwriter and actor. He is best known as a member of the seminal proto-punk band the New York Dolls. He is also known for his work under the pseudonym Buster Poindexter, and for playing the Ghost of Christmas Past in '' Scrooged''. Early life Johansen was born in the New York City borough of Staten Island to a librarian mother, Helen, and an insurance sales representative father, who had previously sung opera. His mother was Irish American and his father was Norwegian American. NRBQ is an American rock band founded by Terry Adams (piano), Steve Ferguson (guitar) and Joey Spampinato (bass). Originally the "New Rhythm and Blues Quintet", the group was formed around 1965. Warren William Zevon (; January 24, 1947 – September 7, 2003) was an American rock singer, songwriter, and musician.
