The Little One (book)
is a children's picture book by Kiyo Tanaka (田中清代 ''Tanaka Kiyo''), published in 2018 by . David Boyd wrote the English translation, published in 2021 by Enchanted Lion Books. The book involves a little girl who sees a creature and goes on an adventure with it, before meeting her father at the end of the book. It was published in French, as ''La petite chose noire'', with translation by Alice Hureau. Reception The book and its author won the "Purple Island Award", of Nami Island International Picture Book Illustration Concours 2019. It also won the 25th edition Grand Prize, and the . Kirkus Reviews stated that for the most part the work is "poignant and engrossing narrative" although it argued the aspect of her going into a closet at the creature's request "gives serious pause". The Little Ones (band)
The Little Ones is an indie pop band based in Los Angeles, California. The music of the band, which features tambourines and handclaps, has garnered comparisons to 1960s pop bands such as The Beach Boys, The Zombies, The Kinks, modern-day pop group The Shins, and the Elephant Six collective. History Before Ed Reyes and Ian Moreno formed The Little Ones, they were members of an indie rock band called Sunday's Best. Background The song "Little One" dates back to 2015, where the band would perform the then-unreleased track live at concerts while touring in support of their first studio album, ''Mister Asylum''. Siegel, the producer of the film ''High Society'', paid Cole Porter $250,000 for his first original film score in eight years. ''From a Basement on the Hill'' is the sixth and final studio album by the American singer-songwriter Elliott Smith. Recorded from 2000 to 2003, and faced with multiple delays due to Smith's personal problems that resulted in his death, it was released posthumously in the UK and Europe on Domino on October 18, 2004, and in the US the following day on October 19, 2004, through record label ANTI-, almost a year after his death. The album was initially planned as a double album, and was incomplete at the time of Smith's death. Many of the songs Smith intended for the album remained unfinished, in some cases lacking only vocals. Smith's family hired his former producer Rob Schnapf and ex-girlfriend Joanna Bolme to sort through and finish the batch of over thirty songs that were recorded for the album, although the estate retained final decision on which tracks to include. The Little One Tour is a 2011 concert tour by the American singer-songwriter Bilal, in support of his album ''Airtight's Revenge''. The tour was also used by the singer to promote the charity Autism Speaks and titled after the ''Airtight's Revenge'' single " Little One", an ode to his autistic son. The tour began in February 2011, with shows in the U.S. and Europe, and ended on September 16. On June 18, Bilal headlined along with other acts as part of the Stockholm Jazz Festival and performed two shows in South Africa in August.
