''The Independent'' is a newsmagazine published in Kampala, Uganda. Overview The newspaper covers general and business news. It also has dedicated sections for news analysis, Eastern African regional news and a features section. It comes out in glossy print, but it is also available on the Internet. A news magazine is a typed, printed, and published magazine, radio or television program, usually published weekly, consisting of articles about current events. Andrew Mwenda
Andrew Mwenda (born 1972) is a Ugandan print, radio and television journalist, and the founder and owner of ''The Independent'', a current affairs newsmagazine. He was previously the political editor of '' The Daily Monitor'', a Ugandan daily newspaper, and was the presenter of Andrew Mwenda Live on KFM Radio in Kampala, Uganda's capital city. Background and education Mwenda was born in 1972 in Fort Portal, Kabarole District, in the Western Region of Uganda. His father is ''Mzee Phillip Muhanga'' of Fort Portal. Mwenda is a younger brother to Major General Kayanja Muhanga, a senior UPDF military officer. After attending primary school locally, Mwenda entered Nyakasura School where he completed his O-Level studies. English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. The mass media in Uganda includes print, television, radio and online sectors, and coverage is split between both state-run outlets and privately held outlets as well as English-language outlets and Luganda-language outlets. Print media in Uganda There are number of newspapers in Uganda today. The New Vision is Uganda's leading English daily newspaper. It is a state owned newspaper and has the largest nationwide circulation. The Daily Monitor is independent English language newspaper and second in circulation to The New Vision. Achola writes for Independent Uganda. She is also an award-winning entrepreneur. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics. It was found that different atoms and different elementary particles, theoretically with the same amount of matter, have nonetheless different masses.
