The Hellfire Club (film)
''The Hellfire Club'' is a 1961 film inspired by the historical Hellfire Club, Sir Francis Dashwood's infamous 'Gentlemen's' society of the 18th century. It starred Keith Michell and featured Peter Cushing in a small cameo as enigmatic attorney Mr Merryweather. According to the film, the club was famed for its depravity, debauchery, and devil worship. Although not a Hammer Film Productions, Hammer Films production, there are visual similarities. The script was co-written by Jimmy Sangster, and co-stars Hammer regulars Miles Malleson and Francis Matthews (actor), Francis Matthews. Denis Shaw
Denis Shaw (7 February 1921 – 28 February 1971) was a British character actor specialising in slimy villains. Born in Dulwich as Douglas Findlay Shaw, he was a rotund man, with dark, wavy hair and slanty eyes. This appearance meant he would often be found troubling countless heroes of the 1950s and 1960s on film and television, most memorably as the German guard Priem in ''The Colditz Story'' (1955). Alternatively, he could also be found propping up the tavern bar in a number of British horror films. Desmond Walter-Ellis (16 September 1914 – 16 September 1994) was an English actor. He was active in a range of genres, from classic drama to cabaret, revue and musicals. He played a major part in the development of BBC Television when it restarted after the Second World War. Andrew Faulds
Andrew Matthew William Faulds (1 March 1923 – 31 May 2000) was a British actor and Labour Party politician. After a successful acting career on stage, on radio and in films, he was a Member of Parliament from 1966 to 1997. Early life Faulds was born to missionary parents in Isoko, Tanganyika. He married Bunty Whitfield in 1945. During the Second World War he served in both the Royal Air Force and the Fleet Air Arm. After graduating from the University of Glasgow, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1948. However, he first came to a wider public recognition playing Jet Morgan in Charles Chilton's radio drama ''Journey into Space'' on the BBC Light Programme.
