The Great Australian Bake Off (season 2)
The second season of '' The Great Australian Bake Off'' premiered on 13 October 2015. The series saw twelve home bakers take part in a bake-off to test their baking skills as they battle to be crowned ''The Great Australian Bake Off's'' best amateur baker. Unlike the first season, season two aired on pay television channel LifeStyle Food and was produced by FremantleMedia Australia. The season is hosted by Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle and is judged by Maggie Beer Maggie Beer (born Margaret Anne Ackerman, 19 January 1945) is an Australian chef, food author, restaurateur, and food manufacturer. Claire Hooper
Claire Hooper (born 5 September 1976) is an Australian stand-up comedian, television and radio presenter and writer. Hooper is co-hosting '' The Great Australian Bake Off'' alongside Mel Buttle. She appeared as a team captain on the 2008 revival of ''Good News Week'' on Network Ten and was a regular on '' The Sideshow'', appearing with Paul McDermott. Since 2005, she has regularly performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Mel Buttle
Melinda Claire Buttle is an Australian comedian, television and radio presenter and writer. Buttle is co-hosting ''The Great Australian Bake Off'' alongside Claire Hooper. In April 2013, she was awarded the Directors Choice Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for her solo show 'How Embarrassment'. She wrote on and starred in Network Ten's, ''This Week Live'' as a live correspondent. She was a regular guest on radio stations Triple J, Nova and 612 ABC Brisbane, wrote weekly for the Queensland statewide newspaper ''The Courier Mail'' and ABC television's, '' The Drum''. Maggie Beer
Maggie Beer (born Margaret Anne Ackerman, 19 January 1945) is an Australian chef, food author, restaurateur, and food manufacturer. Beer is one of the judges on ''The Great Australian Bake Off'' alongside Matt Moran and is also a regular guest on '' MasterChef Australia''. Early life Maggie Beer was born in Sydney in January 1945, to Ronald Ackerman, whose German ancestry was from his paternal grandparents, and Doreen Carter, who had English ancestry from her maternal great-grandparents. Her father's ancestors lived in Hill End located in regional New South Wales and were gold miners. Beer believed they were Jewish, but this was refuted in an episode of '' Who Do You Think You Are?'', as it emerged that her ancestors had been Catholic for as long as there were records. Matt Moran
Matthew Moran (born 15 May 1969) is an Australian chef and restaurateur also known for being a guest on various TV cooking shows. Early life Moran was raised on a dairy farm at Badgerys Creek, west of Sydney, before moving to the outer-western suburb of Seven Hills. At age 15, Moran left Grantham High School to start a career as a chef. While still at school, he worked on weekends in the kitchen of the Parramatta RSL Club. He commenced his apprenticeship at La Belle Helene Restaurant, Roseville, on Sydney's North Shore, and it was here that Moran practiced the art of classical French cooking. The Great Australian Bake Off
''The Great Australian Bake Off'' is an Australian television baking series that is based on the BBC baking competition ''The Great British Bake Off.'' The series first premiered on 9 July 2013 on the Nine Network and ran for one season with presenters Shane Jacobson and Anna Gare and judges Dan Lepard and Kerry Vincent. On 1 April 2015 it was announced that the series had been picked up by pay television channel Lifestyle Food and production company FremantleMedia Australia for a second season which premiered on 13 October 2015 with presenters Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle and judges Maggie Beer and Matt Moran. Another 3 seasons aired on Lifestyle Food and Lifestyle between 2016 and 2019.
