The Goldfish
''The Goldfish'' is a 1924 American silent comedy film directed by Jerome Storm and starring Constance Talmadge, Jack Mulhall, and Frank Elliott. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Jennie Wetherby and her husband Jimmy agree that if they tire of wedded life, she or he will hand the other a bowl of goldfish, signifying that their marital partnership is ended. They quarrel and Jimmy carries out the threat, giving Jenny a bowl of goldfish. Won by Herman Krauss, Jenny gives him the goldfish in favor of millionaire J. Hamilton Powers. The latter dies, leaving her a wealthy widow. She is about to wed the Duke of Middlesex, when Krauss brings the old sweethearts together again. The Duke gets the goldfish and Jimmy and Jenny are reunited. Jerome Storm (November 11, 1890 – July 10, 1958) was an American film director, actor, and writer. He acted in 48 films between 1914 and 1941 and directed 47 films between 1918 and 1932. He was born in Denver, Colorado, and died in Desert Hot Springs, California. Nellie Bly Baker
Nellie Bly Baker (September 7, 1893 – October 12, 1984) was an American actress active in the silent film era and early sound films, mostly playing minor roles. She is often confused with the journalist Nellie Bly (1864–1922). Baker's career as an actress took place from 1921 to 1934, and she performed in 13 films. She was never the star or had the main role in any films, playing minor or supporting characters. Many of these films were made by Associated First National Pictures, First National Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures. Most of the films she performed in were silent. ''The Red Kimono'' Baker had a minor role in 1925 in the silent film ''The Red Kimono'' starring Priscilla Bonner, produced by Dorothy Davenport for Mrs. Wallace Reid Productions. Jacqueline Gadsden (August 3, 1900 – August 10, 1986) was an American film actress during the silent era. A native of Southern California, she was born in Lompoc to Gerald F. and Jessie H. (Salter) Gadsden and is probably best known to modern audiences as the wealthy, haughty other woman in the 1927 Clara Bow vehicle '' It''. She married William Harry Dale (1900–1975) about 1924. She portrayed Lon Chaney's character's wife in Tod Browning's '' West of Zanzibar'' in 1928. In a number of films she was billed as Jacqueline Gadsdon and made two films under the name Jane Daly in 1929, her final year in film. She died in the San Diego County city of San Marcos a week after her 86th birthday.
