The Globe (album)
''The Globe'' is the sixth album by alternative dance group Big Audio Dynamite, Big Audio Dynamite II, their second album credited under that name instead of Big Audio Dynamite. It was released on 16 July 1991 in the United States, and in August elsewhere else, just after their limited UK-only album ''Kool-Aid (album), Kool-Aid'' and includes reworked versions of some of its songs. ''The Globe'' was certified Gold album, Gold by the RIAA. Some CD versions came with the live album ''Ally Pally Paradiso'' as an additional disc. Cover design The album cover was designed by surfer Shawn Stussy, who earlier founded the Stüssy, eponymous fashion brand. Tours Big Audio Dynamite II toured to promote ''The Globe'' in late 1992. There was only one stop on the tour in the United States, at Tipitina's in New Orleans. However, they also opened for Public Enemy (band), Public Enemy and U2 on the ''Achtung Baby'' tour. Big Audio Dynamite
Big Audio Dynamite (later known as Big Audio Dynamite II and Big Audio, and often abbreviated BAD) were an English band, formed in London in 1984 by Mick Jones, former lead guitarist, and co-lead vocalist of the Clash. The band mixed various musical styles, incorporating elements of punk rock, dance music, hip hop, reggae, and funk. After releasing a number of well-received studio albums and touring extensively throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Big Audio Dynamite broke up in 1997. In 2011, the band embarked on a reunion tour. Lorna Stucki is a British singer. She began her singing career at the Downbeat Piano bar in Frith Street, next door to Ronnie Scott's at the age of 21. As an untrained blues singer, she made the underground piano bar scene her domain for many years when she began a musical collaboration with André Shapps. In 1990 she signed a one single deal with EastWest Records with the cover version: "Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life "Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life" is a song written by Michael Cleveland, sung by American group Indeep, and released as a single in 1982 by Sound of New York and Becket Records. Gary Stonadge (born 24 November 1962) is a British bass guitarist and DJ. He started playing in Mick Jones' band Big Audio Dynamite Joel Whitburn - 2003 - Page 187 in 1989 when he changed the previous lineup completely and renamed it Big Audio Dynamite II.
