Louis William Chaudet (March 20, 1884 – May 10, 1965) was an American film director of the silent movie era. Biography He was born on March 20, 1884, in Manhattan, Kansas. He died May 10, 1965, in Woodland Hills, California. Louis was the second child and only son of 5 siblings born to Alfred C. Chaudet (1854-1939) and Eva Ann Schlashman Chaudet (1862-1930). Alfred moved his family from Kansas to Pasadena CA between 1900 and 1910 according to the Census of 1910. Jane Keckley
Jane Keckley (September 10, 1876 – August 14, 1963) was an American actress of the silent and sound film eras. Biography Keckley was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and went to school there and in Georgia. Before she acted in films, Keckley performed in stock theater and in vaudeville. Keckley began her film career in one- and two-reel Westerns in 1911. Her first feature film was 1915's ''The Circular Staircase'' (under the name Jane Watson). In her twenty-five year career, she would appear in over 90 films, as well as dozens of shorts. She would appear as a supporting actress in such films as: William Desmond Taylor's '' Huck and Tom'' (1918); the 1936 version of ''Show Boat'', starring Irene Dunne and Allan Jones; and ''Magnificent Obsession'' (1935), starring Irene Dunne and Robert Taylor. Golda Madden (July 17, 1886 – October 26, 1960) was an American actress active during Hollywood's silent era. Biography Madden was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska, in 1886. She was a first cousin of actor/director Harold Lloyd on her mother's side. She began appearing in plays in Chicago in the early 1910s and was signed to Mack Sennett's Keystone in 1916. She retired from acting in the early 1920s and afterward enjoyed a rich social life, serving as president of the Velada Club—a women's group—in Hollywood. She also served as production manager for the Little Theater of Beverly Hills in the 1930s. Otto Abels Harbach, born Otto Abels Hauerbach (August 18, 1873 – January 24, 1963) was an American lyricist and librettist of nearly 50 musical comedies and operettas. Harbach collaborated as lyricist or librettist with many of the leading Broadway composers of the early 20th century, including Jerome Kern, Louis Hirsch, Herbert Stothart, Vincent Youmans, George Gershwin, and Sigmund Romberg. Harbach believed that music, lyrics, and story should be closely connected, and, as Oscar Hammerstein II's mentor, he encouraged Hammerstein to write musicals in this manner. Harbach is considered one of the first great Broadway lyricists, and he helped raise the status of the lyricist in an age more concerned with music, spectacle, and stars. Biography Born in Fairfax, Virginia, Johnstone starred in 82 films as an actor between 1911 and his death in 1919. He often starred alongside Dorothy Gibson, an actress who survived the sinking of the ''Titanic''.
