The Gentle Storm
The Gentle Storm is a Dutch musical project by singer and lyricist Anneke van Giersbergen and composer and musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen, founder and leader of other musical projects such as Star One, Ayreon, Guilt Machine and Ambeon. The duo has previously collaborated in Ayreon albums ''Into the Electric Castle'' and ''01011001''. The project's debut album, ''The Diary'', was released on March 23, 2015 in Europe, and the following day in the US. History Formation and ''The Diary'' (2014–2016) The project was unveiled on 22 April 2014 and was described by Lucassen as "an epic double concept album, a combination of 'classical meets metal' and 'acoustic folk'." Wacken Open Air
Wacken Open Air (, abbreviated as W:O:A) is a rock music, rock music festival, held annually since 1990 on the first weekend of August in the village of Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein, Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Almost all styles and subgenres of hard rock and heavy metal music, metal are represented and hosted. It is now one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world and one of the largest open-air festivals in Germany. Ambeon
Arjen Anthony Lucassen (born 3 April 1960) is a Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon. Lucassen started his career in 1980 as the guitarist and backing vocalist of Dutch band Bodine as Iron Anthony, before joining Vengeance in 1984. After eight years he left the band, wanting to go into a more progressive direction, and released two years later an unsuccessful solo album entitled '' Pools of Sorrow, Waves of Joy'' under the nickname Anthony. In 1995, Lucassen released an album uncredited to any artist called '' Ayreon: The Final Experiment'', in which he sang, wrote every song and played most of the instruments. A War Of Our Own
''A War of Our Own'' is the fourth and final studio album by the Dutch progressive metal band Stream of Passion. Stream of Passion produced the album after leaving Napalm Records, financing it through crowdfunding website Indiegogo, and was their only album with the same line-up as its predecessor. Background Having signed to Napalm Records in 2008, Stream of Passion parted with the record label in 2012. Speaking about the split, lead vocalist Marcela Bovio said: "I would rather not get very specific but let's say that we didn't think that we had the same ideas, and we didn't really think that they 'got' us that well". Soon after, the band decided to fund their planned fourth album by way of fan donations, announcing a campaign through the crowdfunding website Indiegogo on July 16, 2013.
