The First Omen
''The First Omen'' is a 2024 American supernatural horror film directed by Arkasha Stevenson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Tim Smith and Keith Thomas from a story by Ben Jacoby. It is a prequel to '' The Omen'' (1976), and the sixth film in ''The Omen'' franchise. The film stars Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Sônia Braga, Ralph Ineson, and Bill Nighy. The plot follows an American woman sent to work at a church in Rome who uncovers a sinister conspiracy to bring about the birth of the Antichrist. Arkasha Stevenson
Arkasha Stevenson is an American filmmaker and former journalist. She has directed episodes of ''Legion'' and '' Briarpatch'', as well as the third season of ''Channel Zero''. She made her feature directorial debut with the 2024 horror film ''The First Omen'', prequel of the omen franchise. Career Prior to working in entertainment, Stevenson worked as a photojournalist for the '' Los Angeles Times''. In 2015, Stevenson won the Iris Prize for her thesis film ''Vessels'', which is about black market breast enhancements in the transgender community. She and her writing partner Tim Smith first worked together on ''Pineapple'', a short film which debuted at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The Omen (franchise)
''The Omen'' is a horror film franchise beginning in 1976. The story was originally written by David Seltzer, who chose not to continue the series after the first novel. After the third film was produced, a fourth was made-for-television in an attempt to revive the series, but it was received poorly. The series centers on Damien Thorn, a child born of Satan and given to Robert and Katherine Thorn, before being passed along the Thorn families as a child. It is revealed among the families that Damien is in fact meant to be the Antichrist, and as an adult is attempting to gain control of the Thorn business and reach for the presidency. Patrick Troughton
Patrick George Troughton (; 25 March 1920 – 28 March 1987) was an English actor who was classically trained for the stage but became known for his roles in television and film.
