The Fifth State Of Consciousness
''The Fifth State of Consciousness'' is a double album by husband-and-wife psychedelic pop duo Peaking Lights, consisting of Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis. The making of the record differed from previous albums by the duo in that Coyes and Dunis had no involvement from other labels (the LP was released on a label formed by the duo named Two Flowers), they were in the studio together more often, and they were much more experimental with the music. ''The Fifth State of Consciousness'''s press release summarizes that the album is "a story of overcoming the shadow to rise above" with concepts of "dreams, loss of innocence, strength and seeking an enlightened state of being after trials and tribulations." An example of this theme on the LP is "Love Can Move Mountains," which was inspired by the duo's disappointment from the results of the 2016 United States presidential election. Peaking Lights
Peaking Lights are a husband-and-wife music duo who met in San Francisco in 2006 and moved to Spring Green, Wisconsin in December 2007 where they lived until 2009. The couple then moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where they stayed until their return to the West Coast in 2011 to live in Los Angeles. Currently they are based in Amsterdam. Peaking Lights' music has been described as psychedelic pop. The band formed in 2008, performing live in order to fund a road trip to Texas, at which point they self-released the CD-R ''Clearvoiant'' (later released on cassette via Night People). The couple's son Mikko contributed vocals to their third album, ''Lucifer''. In 2013 their second son Marlon was born. Multitrack recording (MTR), also known as multitracking or tracking, is a method of sound recording developed in 1955 that allows for the separate recording of multiple sound sources or of sound sources recorded at different times to create a cohesive whole. A mixing console or mixing desk is an electronic device for mixing audio signals, used in sound recording and reproduction and sound reinforcement systems. Inputs to the console include microphones, signals from electric or electronic instruments, or recorded sounds. Mixers may control analog or digital signals. The modified signals are summed to produce the combined output signals, which can then be broadcast, amplified through a sound reinforcement system or recorded. Soundcraft is a British designer and importer (formerly a manufacturer) of mixing consoles and other professional audio equipment. It is a subsidiary of Harman International Industries, which is owned by South Korean company Samsung Electronics. It was founded by sound engineer Phil Dudderidge and electronics designer Graham Blyth in 1973.
