Evening Telegraph (Dublin)
The ''Evening Telegraph'' was for most of its existence Ireland's leading evening newspaper. It was published in Dublin between 1871 and 1924. Its main rivals were the widely read ''Dublin Evening Mail'' and the less widely read ''Evening Herald''. Launch The ''Evening Telegraph'' was launched in 1871 by a former Irish nationalist Lord Mayor of Dublin Edmund Dwyer Gray. The newspaper was unavowedly Irish nationalist in its politics. It was originally a weekly newspaper but soon became daily (except Sundays). It was particularly famous for the attention it paid to covering social events, and for its use of drawings as illustrations. A project is currently underway to help restore a 16 June 1904 edition. Coventry Evening Telegraph
The ''Coventry Telegraph'' is a local English tabloid newspaper. It was founded as ''The Midland Daily Telegraph'' in 1891 by William Isaac Iliffe, and was Coventry's first daily newspaper. Sold for half a penny, it was a four-page broadsheet newspaper. It changed its name to the ''Coventry Evening Telegraph'' on 17 November 1941. On 2 October 2006, the ''Telegraph'' simply became the ''Coventry Telegraph'', reflecting its switch to a morning publication. The newspaper became a part of the then Mirror Group (prior to its merger with Trinity to become Trinity Mirror), in 1997. In April 2022, the publication had a paid daily circulation of just over 6,183 copies. Trinity Mirror is now known as Reach plc. The ''Derby Telegraph'', formerly the ''Derby Evening Telegraph'', is a daily tabloid newspaper distributed in the Derby area of England. Stories produced by the Derby Telegraph team are published online under the Derbyshire Live brand. History In 1857, Richard Keene was publishing the ''Derby Telegraph'' every Saturday. His business was in the Irongate district of Derby. His family was to include Alfred John Keene who was a local painter whose work is displayed in the Derby Art Gallery. Another paper was first published in 1879 by Eliza Pike. It was known at the time as the ''Derby Daily Telegraph'' and was a four-page broadsheet which cost a halfpenny. Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph
The ''Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph'' is the local newspaper for north and east Northamptonshire and is the sister paper of Northampton's '' Chronicle & Echo''. It is based at Newspaper House in Rothwell Road, Kettering, and has since 1996 been part of the Johnston Press newspaper group. The paper also has district offices in Wellingborough, Rushden and Corby. The ''Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph'' is published in full colour every Thursday. Two editions of the paper are printed—one distributed in Corby and the other in Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden and the surrounding areas. In spring 2012 a decision was made by the newspaper's owners that the newspaper would become a weekly publication, along with several other local newspapers. The ''Peterborough Telegraph'', or ''PT'' as it is known locally (formerly the ''Peterborough Evening Telegraph'' or ''ET''), is the local newspaper for the city of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, in the United Kingdom. The Philadelphia ''Evening Telegraph'' was a newspaper published in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1864 to 1918. The paper was started on January 4, 1864, by James Barclay Harding and Charles Edward Warburton. Warburton served as publisher until 1896, when he passed the newspaper and the publisher's job to Barclay Harding Warburton I. In 1911, Barclay Warburton sold the paper to Rodman Wanamaker, who ran it until it closed in 1918.
