''The Telegraph'' was a newspaper in Adelaide, South Australia, founded in 1862, and merged with '' The Express'' to become ''The Express and Telegraph'', published from 1867 to 1922. Coventry Telegraph
The ''Coventry Telegraph'' is a local English tabloid newspaper. It was founded as ''The Midland Daily Telegraph'' in 1891 by William Isaac Iliffe, and was Coventry's first daily newspaper. Sold for half a penny, it was a four-page broadsheet newspaper. It changed its name to the ''Coventry Evening Telegraph'' on 17 November 1941. On 2 October 2006, the ''Telegraph'' simply became the ''Coventry Telegraph'', reflecting its switch to a morning publication. The newspaper became a part of the then Mirror Group (prior to its merger with Trinity to become Trinity Mirror), in 1997. In April 2022, the publication had a paid daily circulation of just over 6,183 copies. Trinity Mirror is now known as Reach plc. The ''Durango Telegraph'' is an independent weekly publication based in Durango, Colorado. The ''Telegraph'' began publication on August 22, 2002. Founded as an alternative to the region's dominant daily newspaper, the ''Telegraph'' was named after a popular local mountain bike trail. The ''Civilian & Telegraph'' was a Unionist newspaper published weekly in Cumberland, Maryland, from 1859 to 1905. It was created on March 17, 1859, from the merger of two newspapers, the ''Civilian'' and ''Telegraph''. William Evans and John J. Maupin were the first editors. History ''Civilian'' The ''Civilian'' was a weekly newspaper established on February 14, 1828, by Samuel Charles. The name of the newspaper was chosen to indicate that the paper did not support the candidacy of military man Andrew Jackson in the 1828 presidential election. Instead, the paper supported "The Great Commoner" and Secretary of State Henry Clay. On April 14, 1833, a fire burnt down much of Cumberland, including the offices of the ''Civilian'' and the Cumberland ''Advocate''. The ''Bluefield Daily Telegraph'' is a newspaper based in Bluefield, West Virginia, and also covering surrounding communities in McDowell, Mercer and Monroe counties, West Virginia; and Bland, Buchanan, Giles and Tazewell counties, Virginia (including the town of Bluefield, Virginia). It publishes online Monday through Saturday. A print edition is distributed Tuesday through Saturday. The ''Jewish Telegraph'' is a British Jewish newspaper. It was founded in December 1950 by Frank and Vivienne Harris, the parents of the current editor, Paul Harris. Founding Frank and Vivienne Harris founded the newspaper in their dining room in Salford in December 1950. Frank Harris was a London freelance journalist who, on his arrival in Manchester, noticed that its only Jewish newspaper was a freesheet. He determined to establish a paid for Jewish weekly. Expansion Vivienne Harris oversaw the newspaper's expansion from 1950 to 2011. She established editions in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow.
