The Eurovision Museum
The Húsavík Eurovision Song Contest Exhibition (commonly referred to as the Eurovision Museum) is a museum exhibition located on the ground floor of the Cape Hotel in the town of Húsavík, Iceland. The exhibition tells the story of the Eurovision Song Contest and of the 2020 Netflix film '' Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga'', that was set and filmed in Húsavík. The museum project was first announced in July 2020 by the Mayor of Húsavík during a radio interview following the release of the film. The museum is run by the local Exploration Museum with permission from the European Broadcasting Union and Netflix. It displays outfits and instruments from the song contest, as well as costumes and props from the film. Exhibitions The museum consists of three main exhibition spaces. Húsavík
Húsavík () is a town in Norðurþing municipality on the north coast of Iceland on the shores of Skjálfandi bay with 2,307 inhabitants. The most famous landmark of the town is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja, built in 1907. Húsavík is served by Húsavík Airport. Örlygur Hnefill Örlygsson (born 23 October 1983), known professionally as Orly Orlyson, is an Icelandic filmmaker, entrepreneur, hotelier, founder of The Exploration Museum and former President of the Húsavík town council. In 2018, Örlygur was selected by the United States Department of State and the German Marshall Fund to represent Iceland in the YTILI program. That same year, he was awarded by JCI as one of Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Iceland for his various entrepreneurial projects, most notably for founding The Exploration Museum, and for co-founding the Leif Erikson Awards. The Exploration Museum
The Exploration Museum ( is, Könnunarsögusafnið ) is dedicated to the history of human exploration, from the early explorers to the exploration of space. The museum is located in the center of Húsavík in North Iceland, from the Arctic Circle. The museum was founded in 2011 and formally opened in 2014 by the President of Iceland. The main exhibition room features photographs and artifacts from the Apollo astronaut training program near Húsavík in 1965 and 1967. The second exhibition room features the history of Viking exploration. Upstairs is dedicated to the exploration of the polar regions and the races to the north and south poles. Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir (; born 11 November 1986), known outside Iceland simply as Greta Salóme, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, and violinist in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
