"The Erlenmeyer Flask" is the 24th episode and the first season finale of the science fiction television series ''The X-Files''. Written by executive producer Chris Carter and directed by R. W. On ''The X-Files'' television show, the term Men in Black refers to a group of enforcers employed by the Syndicate (The X-Files), Syndicate to execute assassinations, cover-ups and other clandestine operations. It is clear that most, if not all, of them are former members of special forces, special operations units. Some, mostly shown in comedic episodes, parodied the traditional view of Men in black, MIBs from UFO lore. Most had no known civilian identities, though there were some exceptions. They rarely speak. Deep Throat is a fictional character on the American science fiction television series ''The X-Files''. He serves as an informant, leaking information to FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder to aid Mulder's investigation of paranormal cases, dubbed X-Files. The Smoking Man
The Cigarette Smoking Man (abbreviated CSM or C-Man; sometimes referred to as Cancer Man or the Smoking Man) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the American science fiction drama television series ''The X-Files''.
