''The Embarrassing Beginning'' is the fourth full-length album by Canadian hardcore punk band Grade. It is a combination of two older releases with new packaging. The first eight songs are from Grade's first proper release, Grade/Believe split released on a small Canadian label called Workshop Records back in 1994. Grade (band)
Grade is a melodic hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, often credited as pioneers in blending metallic Hardcore punk, hardcore with the honesty and melody of emo, and - most notably - the alternating screaming/singing style later popularized by bands like Poison the Well (band), Poison the Well and Hawthorne Heights. Formed in 1994, Grade found inspiration in the hardcore bands Integrity (band), Integrity and Chokehold (band), Chokehold. By 1995, however, they had discovered Indian Summer (American band), Indian Summer and Rye Coalition and began developing the sound and style for which they'd become known. Victory Records is a Chicago-based record label founded by Tony Brummel. It operates a music publishing company called "Another Victory, Inc." and is the distributor of several record labels. It has featured many prominent artists including Thursday, Hawthorne Heights, Silverstein, Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, Streetlight Manifesto, and A Day to Remember. In September 2019, years after buying part of the label's catalogue, Concord bought Victory Records and Another Victory for $30 million. ''The Second World War'' is a history of the period from the end of the First World War to July 1945, written by Winston Churchill. "Panama" is a song by the American rock band Van Halen. It was the third US single released from the album ''1984''. Composition Musically, "Panama" has been described as glam metal, heavy metal, and hard rock. Background Despite its name, the song is not about the country. Instead, the song was reportedly written about a car. In an interview with Howard Stern, lead singer David Lee Roth explained the meaning behind the song. Although the song features some suggestive lyrics, it is about a car that Roth saw race in Las Vegas; its name was "Panama Express", hence the title of the song.
