The Editors
Editors are an English rock band, formed in 2002 in Birmingham. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesiser, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals), and Benjamin John Power (composer and producer). Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and six in total, with several million combined sales. Their debut album '' The Back Room'' was released in 2005. It contained the hits "Munich" and "Blood" and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination. Their follow-up album '' An End Has a Start'' went to number 1 in the UK Album Chart in June 2007 and earned the band a Brit Awards nomination for best British Band. Moseley
Moseley is a suburb of south Birmingham, England, south of the city centre. The area is a popular cosmopolitan residential location and leisure destination, with a number of bars and restaurants. The area also has a number of boutiques and other independent retailers. It is located within the Moseley and Kings Heath Ward of the city, in the constituency of Hall Green. Historically it lay within Worcestershire. History Moseley was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Museleie. "Blood" is a song by British post-punk revival band Editors from their 2005 debut album, '' The Back Room''. It was released 11 July 2005 as the third single from the album and was re-released on 19 June 2006. It was in very limited release with the CD limited to 5000 copies whilst the 10-inch single was deleted on day of release and was only available through pre-ordering. Interpol (band)
Interpol is an American Rock music, rock band from Manhattan, New York. Formed in 1997, their original line-up consisted of Paul Banks (American musician), Paul Banks (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Daniel Kessler (guitarist), Daniel Kessler (lead guitar, backing vocals), Carlos Dengler (bass guitar, keyboards), and Greg Drudy (drums). Joy Division
Joy Division were an English rock band formed in Salford in 1976. The group consisted of vocalist Ian Curtis, guitarist/keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook and drummer Stephen Morris. Sumner and Hook formed the band after attending a June 1976 Sex Pistols concert. While Joy Division's first recordings were heavily influenced by early punk, they soon developed a sparse sound and style that made them one of the pioneers of the post-punk movement. Their self-released 1978 debut EP ''An Ideal for Living'' drew the attention of the Manchester television personality Tony Wilson, who signed them to his independent label Factory Records. ''Violence'' is the sixth studio album from British band Editors. It was released on 9 March 2018 by PIAS Recordings. The album features a new studio recording of " No Sound but the Wind", a track previously released in a different version on the soundtrack to the film '' The Twilight Saga: New Moon'' in 2009 and as a subsequent live recording in 2010. The band produced the album themselves with Leo Abrahams, and were assisted musically by Benjamin John Power, also known as Blanck Mass, who is half of the drone music duo Fuck Buttons. The initial recording sessions with Power yielded the companion release ''The Blanck Mass Sessions'', which features alternate recordings of songs from ''Violence'', and was first released on 13 April 2019 for Record Store Day. ''In Dream'' is the fifth studio album by British band Editors. It was produced by the band themselves and released on 2 October 2015 through PIAS Recordings. Background On 15 July 2015, the band announced the album via Facebook and said in a statement: "Our last record was the sound of us learning to walk again, with new legs! ''In Dream'', our first self produced album, is us diving into the computer, a real studio record, made in isolation by the 5 of us". ''The Weight of Your Love'' is the fourth studio album from the British band Editors. It was released on 28 June 2013 by PIAS Recordings. The first single " A Ton of Love" first aired on 6 May 2013 on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show, with the music video being released on the same day. This is the first Editors album recorded after the departure of lead guitarist Chris Urbanowicz on 16 April 2012. The band has released a statement on their official website saying it was "a decision entirely based upon future musical direction" and that Urbanowicz's departure was "entirely amicable". ''In This Light and on This Evening'' is the third studio album by English rock band Editors. It was released on 12 October 2009 by Kitchenware Records. The band had said the material would have a more raw and anthemic sound compared to their previous work. The first single from the album was " Papillon". The second single was " You Don't Know Love", released on 25 January of the following year. The third single, " Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool", was released on 24 May. The album also features a bonus extended play of five songs, called ''Cuttings II''. It was released as a digital download on 11 June 2007 and as a physical single through CD and vinyl on 18 June 2007 in the United Kingdom. It peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart in its first week of physical release and became a moderate to minor hit in Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands. A single was also released in the US on 26 June 2007. The song was set to debut on Zane Lowe's show on 30 April; however, the song leaked on the internet a few days preceding.
