"Blood" is a song by British post-punk revival band Editors from their 2005 debut album, '' The Back Room''. It was released 11 July 2005 as the third single from the album and was re-released on 19 June 2006. It was in very limited release with the CD limited to 5000 copies whilst the 10-inch single was deleted on day of release and was only available through pre-ordering. Over the two formats, they contain two cover songs (originally by Talking Heads and R.E.M.) and two remixes of '' The Back Room'' track "Camera" from Jason Spaceman and Paul Oakenfold. Editors (band)
Editors are an English rock band, formed in 2002 in Birmingham. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesiser, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals), and Benjamin John Power (composer and producer). Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and six in total, with several million combined sales. Their debut album '' The Back Room'' was released in 2005. It contained the hits "Munich" and "Blood" and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination. Jason Spaceman
Jason Andrew Pierce (born 19 November 1965 in Rugby) is an English musician. Currently the frontman and sole permanent member of the band Spiritualized, he previously co-fronted the alternative rock band Spacemen 3 with Peter Kember from 1982 until 1991. He has worked under the name J. Spaceman. Music In between his work with Spiritualized and Spacemen 3, Pierce has been active with a network of free jazz players and improvisers, collaborating with acclaimed artists, including Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dr. John, Primal Scream, Daniel Johnston and Yoko Ono. In 2006, Pierce released his first solo album, ''Guitar Loops'', a limited release on Coxon and Wales's Treader record label. "Orange Crush" is a song by the American alternative rock band R.E.M. It was released as the first single from the band's sixth studio album, ''Green'', in 1988. It was not commercially released in the U.S. despite reaching number one as a promotional single on both the Mainstream and Modern Rock Tracks (where, at the time, it had the record for longest stay at number one with eight weeks, beating U2). It peaked at number 28 on the UK Singles Chart, making it the band's then-highest chart hit in Britain, where they promoted the song by making their debut appearance on ''Top of the Pops''. "Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors" is the first single from English rock band Editors' second album, '' An End Has a Start'' (2007). It was released as a digital download on 11 June 2007 and as a physical single through CD and vinyl on 18 June 2007 in the United Kingdom. It peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart in its first week of physical release and became a moderate to minor hit in Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands. A single was also released in the US on 26 June 2007. The song was set to debut on Zane Lowe's show on 30 April; however, the song leaked on the internet a few days preceding.
