The Dawood Foundation (TDF) is a not-for-profit family foundation based in Karachi, Pakistan. TDF has been working in Pakistan since the 1960s and has been heavily involved in establishing various formal and informal education institutions across the country. TDF is a civil society organisations for promoting social development certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP). History The Dawood Foundation (TDF) was founded in 1960 by Ahmed Dawood. It was envisioned to serve as an educational foundation whose main focus was to support and promote educational initiatives in the fields of science, technology, and research. The Karakoram is a mountain range in Kashmir region spanning the borders of Pakistan, China, and India, with the northwest extremity of the range extending to Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Chitral Gol
Chitral Gol National Park ( ur, ) is one of the National Parks of Pakistan. It is located in Chitral District in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan beside the Chitral River, at a distance of two hours drive from Chitral town. The park is also known as Chitral National Park. Legal status Up until 1983, Chitral Gol was considered to be the private property of the former Mehtar of Chitral. The status of the park has been in dispute since and has become the issue of ongoing litigation between heirs of the former Mehtar and the Government of Pakistan. The Margalla Hills () are a hill range within the Margalla Hills National Park on the northern edge of Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan, just south of Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. MagnifiScience Centre
The MagnifiScience Centre (MSC) is an independent science center in Karachi, with a mission to develop among the populace an interest in scientific thinking, scientific literacy, and scientific methods through engagement with interactive exhibits and programmes. The MSC’s multistorey building, located in the City Railway Colony of Saddar, opened to the public in September 2021. The TDF Ghar (''House in Urdu'') is an informal learning space situated in Karachi, Pakistan. It’s a house constructed in the 1930s and restored as a living museum. The Dawood Foundation (TDF) has retained the heritage architectural features of the house to preserve the living style of the past residents of cosmopolitan Karachi. Background The House was originally constructed in the 1930s under an almond tree with hand-crafted tiles. It belonged to a Hindu woman, Haribai Motiram, who later sold it to the Dawood family’s ancestors.
