The Daily Observer is an English-language newspaper in Bangladesh. The founding editor is Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, who was formerly editor of ''The Bangladesh Observer''. History ''The Daily Observer'' hit the stands in Bangladesh on 1 February 2011. Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, the last editor of ''Bangladesh Observer'', started the circulation of a new newspaper by the name of ''The Daily Observer'' in 2011. The editor was sued by MP Nizam Uddin Hazari in 2017 for publishing an allegedly defamatory article mentioning him. Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury
Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury (1 April 1949) is a Bangladeshi journalist and editor of ''The Daily Observer''. He served as the Media and Information Affairs advisor to Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina for almost 5 years. Career Iqbal Sobhan did his M.A. in public administration at the University of Dhaka. He serves as the editor of ''The Daily Observer''. He was ex president of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists. He served as a member of Bangladesh Film Censor Board, Bangladesh Press Council, and National Education Policy Draft Committee. He is the chairman of the Mohammadi Group. He was the current media and information affairs advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He was appointed the advisor on 11 July 2013. Nizam Uddin Hazari
Nizam Uddin Hazari () is an Awami League politician and member of parliament from Feni-2. Early life Uddin was born on 1 January 1966. He has a B.com degree. His mother was Dil Afroze Begum and his father was Zainal Abedin. Career Uddin started politics while he was a student of Chittagong Govt. Commerce College. In the 1990s Uddin worked under AJM Nasir Uddin in Chittagong. Uddin was sentenced to jail on an arms case on 22 March 1992. He returned to Feni in 1997 to work under Joynal Hazari. On 16 August 2000, a court in Chittagong sentenced Uddin to ten years imprisonment on an arms case. He was released after serving five years in jail. He had appealed against the verdict with Bangladesh High Court and Bangladesh Supreme Court. Uddin was mayor of Feni in 2011.
