The Cutler
The Cutler is an electronica collaboration from Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire. Formed by Steve Cobby, formerly half of Fila Brazillia, and David 'Porky' Brennand, founder of Pork Recordings, they play electronica and Dub music. Formed in 2006, their debut release came in 2007 – on the electronica label Steel Tiger Records (based in Hull/Sheffield and established by Cobby with Sim Lister in 2006) – with the single, ''Stiletto''. On 11 June 2013, The Cutler were a front-page feature article on Bandcamp; the article's author is Andrew Jervis, the head curator at Bandcamp – he wrote, "The mojo is indeed back. Kingston upon Hull, usually abbreviated to Hull, is a port city and unitary authority in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Rob Da Bank
Robert John Gorham (born 24 June 1973 in Portsmouth, Hampshire), known by the pseudonym Rob da Bank, is an English DJ and co-founder of music festivals Bestival, originally on the Isle of Wight and now moved to Lulworth, Dorset and Camp Bestival, also in Lulworth. He presented a show on BBC Radio 1 which focused on promoting new left field music. Examples of artists featured on his show include Tipper, Moloko and a host of unsigned acts. Until September 2006, he and Chris Coco were the presenters of the Blue Room on Radio 1. Mark Errington Brydon is an English Bass guitar, bassist, guitarist, composer, arranger, recording engineer, remix artist and record producer, producer best known as a member of the group Moloko. Previous work He comes from Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, Sunderland, England, but established himself in the Sheffield music scene, most notably with the funk band Chakk whose advance from MCA Records financed the building of FON Studios. Pete Lazonby (also referred to as Peter Lazonby) is a record producer best known for his singles "Sacred Cycles" and "Wavespeech" released on Brainiak Records. They were featured on many compilation albums including those in the ''Global Underground'' series. "Sacred Cycles" made the UK Singles Chart and was remixed by Quivver, Cass & Slide, and Medway. It contains a sample from a talk from Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (later called Osho) and a sample from the 3rd Genesis LP (''Nursery Cryme''), "The Fountain of Salmacis", which is used throughout the track. Tranquility Bass was the stage name of Michael Adam Kandel (1967/1968 – May 17, 2015), an American musician whose music has been variously categorized as ambient house, trip hop, and funk rock. He released various singles during the 1990s, followed by his first full-length album, ''Let The Freak Flag Fly'', in 1997 on Astralwerks. Early life Kandel was born and raised in Chicago. Gavin Hardkiss (born Gavin Bieber on November 29, 1968) is an electronic musician, DJ, label owner, producer, remixer, author and artist who has performed under the name "Gavin Hardkiss" and "Hawke". Cocteau Twins
Cocteau Twins was a Scottish rock band active from 1979 to 1997. They were formed in Grangemouth by Robin Guthrie (guitars, drum machine) and Will Heggie (bass), adding Elizabeth Fraser (vocals) in 1981 and replacing Heggie with multi-instrumentalist Simon Raymonde in 1983.
