The Clink (restaurant)
The Clink Restaurant concept was founded by Alberto Crisci in 2009 and are a major part of The Clink Charity's prisoner rehabilitation initiatives. The charity aims to break the cycle of crime by changing attitudes, creating second chances and reducing reoffending rates. Each prisoner who works in a Clink Restaurant studies for accredited NVQs in food preparation, food service and cleaning. Whilst working in a Clink Restaurant prisoners gain experience within an operational business and receive in-depth guidance to find full-time employment within the hospitality industry upon release. There are currently four Clink Restaurants in operation located at HMP Brixton, HMP Cardiff, HMP High Down and HMP Styal. CulinaryCorps is an American non-profit organization that recruits culinary students and professionals to volunteer their professional skills on trips to communities in the United States. History The organization was founded by Christine Carroll following a volunteer trip to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Liberty Kitchen
Liberty Kitchen is a social enterprise based at HM Prison Pentonville, London. It exists to train prisoners in high-quality food preparation, and to employ ex-prisoners to sell this food at street markets. Its intention is to open up opportunities to the men, including qualifications and the possibility of self-employment, and thus reduce recidivism. Liberty Kitchen launched in 2016. Seed funding was provided by, among others, the Royal Society of Arts and the Drapers' Company, one of the ancient livery companies of the City of London. HM Prison Prescoed (Welsh: ) is a Category D men's open prison, located in Coed-y-paen, three miles from Usk in Monmouthshire, Wales. Sheila Dillon
Sheila Dillon is a British food journalist who began her career writing for the New York food magazine ''Food Monitor''. She is known to listeners of Radio Four as presenter of ''The Food Programme'', on which she has appeared for more than 20 years. Dillon has been the programme's regular presenter since 2001. Early life and education Dillon was born in Hoghton, Lancashire, and grew up in the 1950s and 1960s. She is from a farming background and went to a Roman Catholic primary school.
