The Checkout
''The Checkout'' was an Australian consumer affairs television series. The show's first series of 10 episodes premiered on 21 March 2013 on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) television station ABC TV. A second series consisting of 16 episodes commenced airing on 20 February 2014. On 9 April 2015, a third series consisting of 12 episodes began airing. The series was renewed for a fourth series, which began airing on 7 April 2016 consisting of 12 episodes. The series returned for a fifth series, airing twelve episodes between 6 April 2017 and 29 June 2017. ''The Checkout'', with a new look, logo, opening theme and art, still retaining original cast and segments, returned for a sixth season on 30 January 2018. In July 2018, the series was cancelled, with the ABC's head of non-scripted production citing "budget cuts and the relatively high cost of making the show" as the reason for its cancellation. Hungry Beast
''Hungry Beast'' (originally ''Projext NEXT'') was an Australian television comedy and current affairs program that was broadcast on ABC Television. Format The show was a half-hour program and is structured as a hybrid between a current affairs program and a satire/comedy show. The presenters were initially given a single editorial instruction: "Tell me something I don't know". Rather than conforming to a strict format, the final shape evolved alongside the presentation team that had been assembled. As a result, prior to the show's debut executive producer Andrew Denton described it as "unclassifiable" due to the chaotic nature of the work, likening the show's format to the Internet. The Chaser
The Chaser are an Australian satirical comedy group, best known for their television programmes and satirical news masthead. The group take their name from their satirical newspaper, a publication known to challenge conventions of taste. The group's motto is "Striving for Mediocrity in a World of Excellence". Founding The Chaser's earliest foundation was a satirical school paper called ''The Tiger'', created by future members Charles Firth, Dominic Knight and Chas Licciardello as a way to "wring as much money as heycould out of their expensive private school" while attending Sydney Grammar. The three then met Julian Morrow, Craig Reucassel and Andrew Hansen at the University of Sydney while working on the University newspaper ''Honi Soit''. The ''Competition and Consumer Act 2010'' (CCA) is an Act of the Parliament of Australia. Prior to 1 January 2011, it was known as the ''Trade Practices Act 1974'' (TPA). The Act is the legislative vehicle for competition law in Australia, and seeks to promote competition, fair trading as well as providing protection for consumers. A2 Milk
A2 milk is a variety of cows' milk that mostly lacks a form of β-casein proteins called A1, and instead has mostly the A2 form. Cows' milk like this was brought to market by The a2 Milk Company and is sold mostly in Australia, New Zealand, China, and the United States. It was sold in the United Kingdom between 2012 and 2019. Non-cow milk, including that of humans, sheep, goats, donkeys, yaks, camels, buffalo, and others, also contain mostly A2 β-casein, and so the term "A2 milk" is also used in that context. David Beach is an Australian jurist who is a justice of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Victoria. Beach was appointed to the Trial Division of the court in 2008 and to the Court of Appeal in 2013 by Attorney-General, Robert Clark. Justice Beach was admitted to practice in 1983 and admitted as a barrister in 1984. He formerly worked as a solicitor for Galbally and O'Bryan, then a barrister.
