''The Chaos After You'' () is the third studio album by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Eric Chou, released by Sony Music Taiwan Sony Music Entertainment (SME), also known as simply Sony Music, is an American multinational music company. Being owned by the parent conglomerate Sony Group Corporation, it is part of the Sony Music Group, which is owned by Sony Entertainment ... on 15 December 2017. Pre-orders for the album opened on 17 and 18 November, coinciding with his second concert tour "22 TWENTY TWO". The album marked Chou's first time as production coordinator and producer of his own work. Chou flew to Sweden to collaborate with Swedish producer Freddy Häggstam in four songs, and continued to experiment with different musical styles such as EDM. According to Chou, "every song in the album is your emotional theme, and every song has their secret story to tell." Over 100 songs were written for the album. Eric Chou (; Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: Chiu Hin-chet, born 22 June 1995) is a Taiwanese singer, songwriter and actor. He has been dubbed by the Taiwanese media as "king of the lovelorn people". Mandopop or Mandapop refers to Standard Chinese, Mandarin popular music. The genre has its origin in the jazz-influenced popular music of 1930s Shanghai known as Shidaiqu; with later influences coming from Japanese enka, Hong Kong's Cantopop, Taiwan's Hokkien pop, and in particular the School campus song, Campus Song folk movement of the 1970s. 'Mandopop' may be used as a general term to describe popular songs performed in Mandarin. Though Mandopop predates Cantopop, the English term was coined around 1980 after "Cantopop" became a popular term for describing popular songs in Cantonese. ''What Love Has Taught Us'' () is the second studio album by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Eric Chou, released by Sony Music Taiwan on 8 August 2016. Pre-orders for the album began on 22 July. The album contains 10 songs, all composed by Chou, including the hit, "How Have You Been?" which topped the KKBOX Mandarin Weekly Singles Chart for 30 consecutive weeks, and its music video reaching 185 million views as of July 2022. Chou worked with producers Daniel Bi and Starr Chen to strengthen the album's sense of rhythm and to incorporate R&B elements. ''Freedom'' () is the first EP and fourth studio album by Taiwanese singer-songwriter Eric Chou, released by Sony Music Taiwan on 10 January 2019. The deluxe edition of the EP was released as the studio album on 24 December 2019. The tracks were inspired by Western pop music Chou grew up with when he studied in the United States. The work demonstrates Chou's creative energy, representing music from his debut to the present by further exploring the EDM genre and R&B. Background and release Chou participated in the Tencent competition ''Chao Yin Idols'' in August 2018.
