''The Butterfly Tree'' is a 2017 Australian drama film directed by Priscilla Cameron. It had its premiere at the 2017 Melbourne International Film Festival, and was screened in the Discovery section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. Plot Evelyn is an ex-burlesque queen who puts a curse on single dad Al and his son Fin with her zest for life. When both Al and Fin learn they are competing for Evelyn's love, their competition brings back memories over the death of Fin's mother. Melissa George
Melissa George (born 6 August 1976) is an Australian actress and entrepreneur. A former national artistic rollerskating champion and model, George began her acting career playing Angel Parrish in the Australian soap opera Home and Away (1993–1996). After moving to the United States, George made her feature film debut in '' Dark City'' (1998). She later had supporting roles in Steven Soderbergh's ''The Limey'' (1999), David Lynch's ''Mulholland Drive'' (2001), '' Sugar & Spice'' (2001), and ''Down with Love'' (2003). Ed Oxenbould (born 1 June 2001) is an Australian actor. He rose to prominence for his role in the film '' Julian'' (2012). Subsequently, he appeared in the television series ''Puberty Blues'' (2012–2014) and became more well-known for his role in the film ''Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day'' (2014).
