The Book Place
''The Book Place'' was an Australian educational television show for children, which aired on the Seven Network from 1991 to 2003. The show was originally presented by former host of Fat Cat and Friends, Lynn Weston with Brenton Whittle, and Andy Armstrong, with Michael Scheld as the Bookworm. Television and media personality Nuala Hafner joined the cast in 1997, while Pete Michell and Amelia McFarlane replaced departing cast members in 2002. Children's television series (or children's television shows) are television show, television programs designed for children, normally scheduled for broadcast during the morning and afternoon when children are awake. They can sometimes run during the early evening, allowing younger children to watch them after school. The purpose of these shows is mainly to entertain or educate. The children's series are in four categories: those aimed at infants and toddlers, those aimed at those aged 6 to 11 years old, those for adolescents and those aimed at all children. Nuala Hafner
Nuala Hafner is an Australian media personality of Ghanaian descent. She is also a clinical psychologist, psychologist. Early life and education Hafner was born in London, England, to Ghanaian-born Australian Dorinda Hafner. Her parents met in England, where her father, Julian, was a psychiatrist, and migrated to Adelaide in 1977, where Nuala was raised. The couple subsequently split up. She attended Adelaide's Pembroke School, Adelaide, where she was dux of her year before travelling to the UK and Europe. She taught drama in London till 1995. She completed a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws at Flinders University in 2000 and was admitted to the bar. Television career Hafner began her media career at the age of three months when she appeared in an advertisement for baby formula. SAS7
SAS, formerly SAS-7 and before that SAS-10, is a television station in Adelaide, South Australia. It is part of the Seven Network. History SAS-7 was originally known as SAS-10, an affiliate of what became Network Ten. It commenced broadcasting on 26 July 1965, as South Australian Telecasters. In the early 1970s the station was bought out by Perth station TVW-7. On 27 December 1987, SAS-10 and ADS-7 switched broadcast channels, ADS moving to channel 10, SAS moving to channel 7. As the television industry was consolidating in Australia, these channels had each become associated by ownership with interstate stations bearing the opposite channel numbers, so to simplify network interaction, they agreed to swap channel assignments and network affiliations in Adelaide. The Seven Network (commonly known as Channel Seven or simply Seven) is a major Australian commercial free-to-air television network. It is owned by Seven West Media Limited, and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. The network's headquarters are located in Sydney. The show was a co-production between WGBH in Boston and Sirius Thinking, Ltd., in New York City, in association with Mississippi Public Broadcasting, the distributor from seasons 5–10, in Mississippi.
