The Bob McLean Show
''The Bob McLean Show'' was a Canadian talk show television series which aired on CBC Television from 1975 to 1981. Premise CBC Television created this series in 1975 to replace '' Elwood Glover's Luncheon Date'' whose host had left the network for another Toronto-based broadcaster. Bob McLean hosted this new talk show from the lower floor of the Cumberland Terrace, a small downtown Toronto shopping centre at Yonge and Bloor. From the second season, the series featured an increasing proportion of Canadian guests and subjects. In 1979, the series travelled from its normal Toronto studio with episodes produced in various Canadian cities such as Halifax, Ottawa and Vancouver. The Royal Canadian Air Farce's Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson were frequently seen on the series as were comedians Howie Mandel and Monica Parker. Don Ferguson (actor)
Don Ferguson (born May 30, 1946) is a Canadian actor, writer, and producer and is one of the stars of the ''Royal Canadian Air Farce''. He and Dave Broadfoot were the only Canadian-born original cast members of ''Air Farce''. In 1998, Ferguson and the original Air Farce cast of Roger Abbott, Luba Goy, and John Morgan received the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement, Canada's highest honour in the performing arts. His many ''Air Farce'' roles included parodies of Paul Martin, Pierre Trudeau, Ron MacLean, Jack Layton, Joe Clark, Preston Manning, Stockwell Day, Rex Murphy, Lucien Bouchard, Bill Clinton, Brian Mulroney, Vladimir Putin, Bob Dylan, and Keith Richards. Jimmy Dale (23 October 1935 – 20 May 2017) was a British-born Canadian arranger, composer, conductor, organist, and pianist. He was active as a music director for both Canadian and United States television during the 1970s and 1980s. He has also composed several film and television scores and written a number of TV theme songs and jingles. Roger Abbott (July 10, 1946March 26, 2011) was an English-born Canadian sketch comedian who was a founding member of the long-lived Canadian comedy troupe ''Royal Canadian Air Farce'', and remained one of its stars and writers until his death. Bill Casselman
William Allen Casselman (born November 27, 1941) is an American Canadian mathematician who works in representation theory and automorphic forms. He is a Professor Emeritus at the University of British Columbia. He is closely connected to the Langlands program and has been involved in posting all of the work of Robert Langlands on the internet. Career Casselman did his undergraduate work at Harvard College where his advisor was Raoul Bott and received his Ph.D from Princeton University in 1966 where his advisor was Goro Shimura. Royal Canadian Air Farce
The Royal Canadian Air Farce was a comedy troupe that was active from 1973 to 2019. It is best known for their various Canadian Broadcasting Corporation series, first on CBC Radio and later on CBC Television. Although their weekly radio series ended in 1997 and their television series ended in 2008, the troupe produced annual New Year's Eve specials on CBC Television until 2019.
