The Block NZ Season 3
The third season of '' The Block NZ'' premiered on 26 August 2014 and ended on 18 November 2014. It ran four nights per week, Tuesday–Friday. The season was set in the Auckland suburb of Point Chevalier, and was judged by Home and Garden editor Shelley Ferguson and architect Mark Gascoigne. Contestants Kiwibank Block Out Live The season was the first to feature the Kiwibank Block Out Live online game, a bingo-style game designed to be played by viewers watching the show live. It consists of a grid of nine squares, each containing an event or quote from the show. When the event is broadcast, viewers have a few minutes to tap the corresponding square. The first person to unlock all nine squares on a given night wins a $100 gift card. Launched on 26 November 1989 as TV3, it was New Zealand's first private broadcasting, privately owned television channel. SkyCity Auckland
Skycity Auckland is an entertainment complex and casino in the central business district of Auckland, New Zealand, between Victoria and Federal Streets. Located at the base of the Sky Tower, it was the second casino in New Zealand, and is the only casino in Auckland. The first series of the New Zealand television reality music competition '' The X Factor'' premiered on TV3 on 21 April 2013 and ended on 22 July 2013. The show was open to singers aged 14 and over. The contestants were split into the show's four traditional categories: Boys, Girls, Over 25s and Groups. The winner was 22-year-old Greymouth singer Jackie Thomas, and her winner's single, "It's Worth It", was released the day of the final. As the winner, Thomas received a Sony Music Entertainment New Zealand recording contract and a new car. Runners-up Whenua Patuwai and Benny Tipene each released a single via Sony. Jackie Thomas (born 18 November 1990) is a New Zealand singer who won the first New Zealand season of ''The X Factor'' in 2013. Competing in the Girls category, she was mentored in the series by Daniel Bedingfield. Her winner's single " It's Worth It" was released on 22 July 2013 and debuted at number one on the New Zealand Music Charts. Albany ( mi, Ōkahukura) is one of the northernmost suburbs of the contiguous Auckland metropolitan area in New Zealand. Point Chevalier (; commonly known as Point Chev and an original colonial name of Point Bunbury after Thomas Bunbury) is a residential suburb and peninsula in the city of Auckland in the north of New Zealand.
