''The Battle of Bademunde'' (german: Die Schlacht von Bademünde) is a 1931 German comedy film directed by Philipp Lothar Mayring and starring Max Adalbert, Claire Rommer and Paul Wagner. Jacobsen p.357 It was one of a number of military comedies made during the late Weimar era. It was shot at the Babelsberg Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Artur Günther. It was produced and distributed by UFA Ufa ( ba, Өфө , Öfö; russian: Уфа́, r=Ufá, p=ʊˈfa) is the largest city and capital of Bashkortostan, Russia. Adele Sandrock (; born Adele Feldern-Förster; 19 August 1863 – 30 August 1937) was a German-Dutch actress. After a successful theatrical career, she became one of the first German movie stars. Early life Sandrock was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the daughter of the German merchant Eduard Sandrock (1834–1897) and his Dutch wife, Johanna Simonetta ten Hagen (1833–1917). Kurt von Ruffin (1901 in Munich, Germany – 17 November 1996 in Berlin, Germany) was a German actor and opera singer who was imprisoned by the Nazis for the crime of homosexuality. Career Von Ruffin began his career as a singer. Starting in 1927 he sang with the operas of Magdeburg, Mainz, and Nuremberg. He made his film debut in 1931 in ' and '' Walzerparadies'', also starring in Harry Piel's ''Bobby geht los'' in the same year. For the latter film von Ruffin took boxing lessons from heavyweight champion Hans Breitensträter.
