The 4th Floor (2003 Film)
''Planta 4ª'' (English: ''The 4th Floor'') is a 2003 Spanish film directed by Antonio Mercero and starring Juan José Ballesta, Alejandro Zafra, Gorka Moreno, Luis Ángel Priego, and Monti Castiñeiras. It was nominated for Best Picture in the 2004 Goya Awards. Plot A group of seriously ill boys live on the fourth floor of a hospital. The floor is their home and the other patients their family. Miguel Ángel (Ballesta) is the leader of the group, recently arrived Jorge (Zafra) is fearfully awaiting his test results and Dani (Moreno) is experiencing his first love affair. Antonio Mercero
Antonio Mercero Juldain (7 March 1936 – 12 May 2018) was a Spanish director of the television series ''Verano azul'' and ''Farmacia de guardia''. He is best known as the director of a 1972 surrealist short horror film titled '' La cabina'', which won an Emmy Award. His 1998 film '' A Time for Defiance'' was entered into the 21st Moscow International Film Festival where it won the Special Silver St. George. In 2010, he was awarded an Honorary Goya Award (Goya de Honor). He died on 12 May 2018 in Madrid at the age of 82 after a battle against Alzheimer's. Juan José Ballesta Muñoz, also known as Juanjo Ballesta (born 12 November 1987) is a Spanish actor. Biography Born on 12 November 1987 in Parla, Ballesta grew up in Toledo. He had his debut performance in television in 1997, starring in the series '' Querido maestro''. He later joined the cast of the TV series ''Compañeros'', playing the role of Emilio Rubio Viñé for 10 episodes. He won fame and a Goya Award for Best New Actor for '' El Bola'' (2000), his debut performance in a feature film. He has performed in more than sixteen, since 1997, until his career declined after 2010. The Goya Awards ( es, Premios Goya) are Spain's main national annual film awards, commonly referred to as the Academy Awards of Spain. Montréal World Film Festival
The Montreal World Film Festival (WFF; french: le Festival des Films du Monde) was one of Canada's oldest international film festivals and the only competitive film festival in North America accredited by the FIAPF (although the Toronto International Film Festival is North America's only accredited non-competitive festival).
