Thaís Fidélis
Thaís Fidélis dos Santos (born July 23, 2001) is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She represented Brazil at the 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where she placed fourth on the floor exercise. Junior career 2016 In September, Thais Fidelis represented Brazil at the 2016 Pan American Individual Event Artistic Gymnastics Championships. She earned three medals: two silver medals (all-around and balance beam), and one gold medal (vault). Senior career 2017 In March, Thais represented Brazil at the City of Jesolo Trophy where she earned a silver medal with the Brazilian team, behind the United States and ahead of Russia. In May, Fidelis took part at the Koper World Challenge Cup, where she earned the bronze medal on the balance beam. 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2018 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships was the 48th edition of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The competition was held from October 25 – November 3, 2018, at the Aspire Academy Dome in Doha, Qatar. It was the first time that the competition was held in the Middle East. Simone Biles became the first American to medal on every event at a single World Championships and the first woman to do so in 31 years. The last person to complete this feat was Russian Yelena Shushunova in 1987. South American Gymnastics Championships
The South American Gymnastics Confederation (CONSUGI) organizes South American Gymnastics Championships in different disciplines of gymnastics: men's and women's artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, as well as aerobic gymnastics. History The first edition of the South American Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held in 1957 in Buenos Aires. It was only the third time a major artistic gymnastics tournament was started in the Americas, after the gymnastics competitions at the Central American and Caribbean Games, first held in 1946, and the gymnastics competitions at the Pan American Games, first held in 1951. Jade Barbosa
Jade Fernandes Barbosa (born July 1, 1991) is a Brazilian artistic gymnast. She is a two-time individual bronze medalist at the World Championships, and represented Brazil at the 2008, 2016, and 2024 Olympic Games. She was part of the historic teams that won silver at the 2023 World Championships and bronze at the 2024 Olympic Games. Gymnastics career Barbosa was the Brazilian junior national champion in the all-around in 2006, and became a senior in 2007. Daiane Dos Santos
Daiane Garcia dos Santos (born February 10, 1983) is a retired artistic gymnast. She is the 2003 world champion on the floor apparatus. On doing so, she became the first black gymnast to ever win an event at the World Championships as well as the first Brazilian and South American to win the competition. She represented Brazil at the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Summer Olympics. Widely regarded as the most powerful tumbler of her generation by critics and fellow competitors alike, the gymnast had two eponymous skills added on the FIG code of points after being the first woman to compete them at international championships.
