Punjab

Karam Chand Thapar
Karam Chand Thapar (1900–1962) was the founder of the Thapar Group of companies. He was originally from Punjab. He started his career in 1920 as a coal trader in Calcutta, and built up the family fortune through Karam Chand Thapar and Bros. He then started JCT Limited which is into textiles as well as molasses and alcohol. He also took over the Oriental Bank of Commerce, and ventured into paper manufacturing with the Ballarpur Industries Limited. In 1956, he started Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology which was given the status of Deemed University in 1985 and renamed as Thapar University. Nikesh Arora
Nikesh Arora (born February 9, 1968) is an Indian-American business executive. Arora was formerly a senior executive at Google. He served as the president of SoftBank Group from October 2014 to June 2016. On June 1, 2018, Arora took on the role of CEO and chairman at Palo Alto Networks. Murli Deora
Murli Deora (10 January 1937 – 24 November 2014) was an Indian politician, businessman, and social worker. He was the Mayor of Mumbai, a Member of Parliament in both the Upper and Lower Houses, and a Minister of Cabinet rank. He was a member of the Indian National Congress. Early life Deora was born Bombay in Marwari Family, and received his BA from Bombay University. His family came from Laxmangarh in Rajasthan. Gautam Thapar
Gautam Thapar (born 7 December 1960) is an Indian businessman who is the chairman of Avantha Group and is part of the Thapar family. Early life Gautam Thapar belongs to the third generation of the business family founded by his grandfather Karam Chand Thapar, in Kolkata. Karam Chand had initially offered the reins of the family business to Gautum's father, Brij Mohan Thapar, bypassing his oldest son Inder Mohan Thapar. However, Brij Mohan passed on the chance to his younger brother Lalit Mohan Thapar, giving lack of desire and inability to shoulder the responsibility as the reasons. Lalit Mohan Thapar
Lalit Mohan Thapar (27 October 1930 – 17 January 2007), often referred to by his initials LMT, headed the LM Thapar Group of companies. He was born to Karam Chand Thapar, the founder of the Thapar Group of companies that owned companies such as Crompton Greaves, BILT and JCT Mills. Inder Mohan Thapar, Brij Mohan Thapar and Man Mohan Thapar are his brothers. He was educated at The Doon School. He graduated in engineering from the University of Southern California, USA. Samir Thapar is an Indian rally driver and businessman. Racing career Early career Thapar debuted in the Indian National Rally Championship in 1992. Viral video In July 2013, after a ten year break from racing, Thapar participated in the 2013 Indian National Rally Championship alongside co-driver Vivek Ponnusamy. A camera was installed inside the car to record the race, and afterwards, Thapar uploaded the recording to his YouTube channel. Yohann Setna, then a manager at the racing and rally team J.A. Motorsport, downloaded the video and edited it down to a humorous three-and-a-half minute clip of the moments during which Ponnusamy was shouting at Thapar, including phrases such as "Samir, you are breaking the car." Naina Lal Kidwai (born 1957) is an Indian banker, chartered accountant and business executive. She was formerly a Group General Manager and the Country Head of HSBC India.
