Thangam Philip
Thangam Elizabeth Philip (1921–2009) was an Indian nutritionist and a pioneer of hospitality education in India. She was the Principal Emeritus of the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai, Institute of Hotel Management, Mumbai and was the author of several books on cookery. A recipient of the ''Food and Agriculture Organization, FAO Ceres Medal'' and the Knighthood of the Order of the Holy Spirit, Order of Cordon Bleu Du Sant Esprit of France, Philip was awarded the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1976. Kottayam District
Kottayam (), is one of 14 districts in the Indian state of Kerala. Kottayam district comprises six municipal towns: Kottayam, Changanassery, Pala, Erattupetta, Ettumanoor, and Vaikom. It is the only district in Kerala that neither borders the Arabian Sea nor any other states.
