Northwest Highway is a major highway/road in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area of Texas. The highway was originally built as the route of State Highway 114 (SH 114) into Dallas. The road has been the site of major development for almost half a decade, especially in Dallas. The route is known as other names at various points. This includes Northwest Parkway (SH 114 from SH 170 to the Dallas county line) and Northwest Drive in Mesquite. Route description SH 114 and Bus. State Highway 170 (SH 170), also known as the Alliance Gateway Freeway, is a Texas state highway in the northern suburbs of Fort Worth in the Alliance area. The highway was designated in 1988. University Park is a city in Dallas County, Texas, United States of America, in suburban Dallas. The population was 23,068 at the 2010 census. The city is home to Southern Methodist University. Preston Hollow, Dallas
Preston Hollow is a neighborhood in north Dallas, Texas, USA. It is bordered on the south by the city of University Park, Texas. History Beginning in the 1850s, the first settlers began receiving land grants for Preston Hollow’s land. Among them were the Lively family on Guersney Lane, the Howell family, and the Meaders family. Other smaller farms, such as the dairy farm at 6303 Meadow, were also in Preston Hollow. In the 1920s, the first people started moving to Preston Hollow for residential purposes. Ralph Stichter was the first, purchasing many acres at the northeast corner of Preston and Walnut Hill. Bachman Lake
Bachman Lake is a small freshwater lake located in the Bachman Lake community of northwest Dallas, Texas (USA). It covers and lies on the northwest boundary of Dallas Love Field in the airport's landing path and the western boundary of the upscale Bluffview neighborhood. At the Western end of the lake, DART provides transit service at Bachman Station, including light rail service via the Green Line and Orange Line. Interstate 35E (I-35E), an Interstate Highway, is the eastern half of I-35, where it splits to serve the Dallas–Fort Worth metropolitan area. I-35 splits into two branch routes, I-35W and I-35E, at Hillsboro. I-35E travels north for , maintaining I-35's sequence of exit numbers. It travels through Dallas before rejoining with I-35W to reform I-35 in Denton. During the early years of the Interstate Highway System, branching Interstates with directional suffixes, such as N, S, E, and W, were common nationwide. Spur 482, known better as Storey Lane, is a short connector route located in the Dallas area. The route originates at the site of the former Texas Stadium and ends northwest of Love Field. Loop 12 is a state highway that runs mostly within the city limits of Dallas, Texas. The western segment of the loop is named after General Walton Walker, who served and died in South Korea. During the 1950s and 1960s, Loop 12 was the outer beltway in the Dallas area, having since been supplanted by Interstate 635 (I-635), which is itself being supplanted by the President George Bush Turnpike (SH 190). Sam Rayburn Tollway
The Sam Rayburn Tollway (formerly the State Highway 121 Tollway) is a tollway operated by the North Texas Tollway Authority that runs from Grapevine to McKinney. Its frontage road are signed State Highway 121. The original portion of the toll road from Business 121 near Coppell to FM 2281 opened in May 2006, and toll collection started December 1 of that year. The tolled portion extended to Hillcrest Road in Plano/Frisco on August 31, 2008. The tollway was extended to Custer Road on September 1, 2009, and again to Hardin Boulevard in McKinney on October 1, 2009.
