State Highway 170 (SH 170), also known as the Alliance Gateway Freeway, is a Texas state highway in the northern suburbs of Fort Worth in the Alliance area. The highway was designated in 1988. History Previous route A previous route numbered SH 170 was designated on August 3, 1932, as a connector route from the Oklahoma state line west to US 60 and US 83 near Canadian. This route was renumbered SH 33 on October 26, 1954, to coincide with OK 33, with which it connects. Current route The current SH 170 was designated in 1988. Construction of an interchange at SH 114 began in 2016. State Highway 33 (SH-33 or OK-33) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It is a major highway that traverses most of the state, and at one time traversed its entirety. Its general orientation is west to east. Route description Roger Mills County SH-33 begins as Texas State Highway 33 enters from Hemphill County, Texas. At mile 4.2, it intersects SH-30, which leads to Erick. The highway runs alongside the Black Kettle National Grassland to its intersection with US-283 at mile 15.7. State Highway 199 is a northwest-to-southeast state route that runs from U.S. Route 380/ State Highway 59 in Jacksboro to Interstate 30/U.S. Route 377 in Fort Worth. Route description SH 199 begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 380/ State Highway 59 in Jacksboro near the Jack County courthouse, with the road continuing north as U.S. Route 281/ State Highway 114. North Texas Tollway Authority
The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is an organization that maintains and operates toll roads, bridges, and tunnels in the North Texas area. Functioning as a political subdivision of the State of Texas under Chapter 366 of the Transportation Code, the NTTA is empowered to acquire, construct, maintain, repair and operate turnpike projects; to raise capital for construction projects through the issuance of turnpike revenue bonds; and to collect tolls to operate, maintain and pay debt service on those projects. The NTTA is governed by a nine-member board of directors, two appointed by each of the four counties in its service area: Collin County, Dallas County, Denton County and Tarrant County as well as one appointed by the Texas Governor. Texas State Highway 33
State Highway 33 is a route that runs from U.S. Highways 60 and 83 south of Canadian and travels east to the Oklahoma border, where it becomes State Highway 33. Previous routes SH 33 was originally proposed on November 19, 1917, from El Paso to the New Mexico border. On December 18, 1917, an intercounty highway was designated from Amarillo to Higgins. On September 5, 1918, SH 33 was extended southwest to the Mexico border. On October 21, 1918, another intercounty highway was designated from Farwell to Canyon. On March 19, 1919, another section of SH 33 was added from the New Mexico border through Amarillo northeast through Panhandle then east through Wheeler and into Oklahoma, replacing the intercounty highway from Farwell to Canyon and the section of the intercounty highway from Amarillo to Pampa. : Westlake is a town in Denton and Tarrant counties in the U.S. state of Texas and a suburb of Dallas/Ft Worth. The population is 1,623 as of the 2020 United States census. History The area known as Westlake was originally settled in 1847 by Charles and Matilda Medlin with about 20 other families. Canadian is a city in, and the county seat of, Hemphill County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,649 at the 2010 census, up from 2,233 in 2000. It is named for the nearby Canadian River, a tributary of the Arkansas River. Incorporated in 1908, Canadian is sometimes called "the oasis of the High Plains".
