Texas Rodeo Hall Of Fame
The Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame is a hall of fame in Pecos, Texas, dedicated to the sport of rodeo. History In 2004, the Texas Rodeo Hall of Fame held its first induction. They used the courtyard of the West of the Pecos Museum. The hall of fame has inducted individuals from all of the rodeo events and from the categories used in the ProRodeo Hall of Fame, and others. Present day The hall of fame inducts individuals from the West of the Pecos rodeo as well as the entire country. The hall of fame is located in the Old T&P Train Depot at 100 East Dot Stafford Street. There are exhibits from the hall of fame in the museum. The hall of fame can be visited in the museum during its operating hours. Margaret Owens
Margaret Owens (March 28, 1922 – October 9, 1955) was an American professional rodeo cowgirl. She was a two-time World Champion barrel racer. In December 1948 and 1951, she won the world championship. Phil Lyne
Phil Lyne (born January 18, 1947) is an American former professional rodeo cowboy who competed in the Rodeo Cowboys Association (RCA)/Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). Lyne was the RCA Rookie of the Year in 1969. Two seasons later at the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), in 1971, he won the all-around cowboy world championship and the tie-down roping world championship. At the NFR in 1972, he repeated as the all-around world champion cowboy and added a second tie-down roping world championship. Lyne won his first and only steer roping world championship at the National Finals Steer Roping (NFSR) in 1990. He was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 1979.
