Allan Cunningham (13 July 1791 – 27 June 1839) was an English botany, botanist and List of explorers, explorer, primarily known for his travels in Australia to collect plants. Cedar Grove, Queensland
Cedar Grove is a mixed-use locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. In the , Cedar Grove had a population of 2,041 people. Geography The western and part of the northern boundary of Cedar Grove follows the Logan River. On the river on the northern boundary is the Cedar Grove Weir. The Mount Lindesay Highway loosely forms the eastern boundary of the locality. The eastern edge of the locality and the west of the locality are used for agriculture, a mixture of grazing on native vegetation and crop growing. A strip through the centre of the locality between the eastern and western agricultural areas is residential. History Cedar Grove railway station () was on the disused Beaudesert railway line from Bethania to Beaudesert. The line opened on 16 May 1888. Flinders Peak Group
The Flinders Peak Group is an unnamed range of hills located on the northern edge of the Scenic Rim Region, south west of Logan City and south east of the City of Ipswich in South East Queensland, Australia. The summit in the Range is Flinders Peak reaching above sea level. The first Europeans to cross the range were Patrick Logan and his exploration party in June 1827. Most of the range remains naturally vegetated within a series of protected areas. Both the Flinders-Goolman Conservation Estate and the Flinders Peak Conservation Park are located along this range. Other mountains include Mount Joyce, Mount Blaine, Mount Goolman, Mount Elliott, Mount Flintoff, Mount Welcome and Ivorys Rock. The range is visible from many locations around the Scenic Rim. Allenview is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Allenview had a population of 184 people. Geography Most of the eastern boundary is marked by the Logan River where irrigated agriculture is the predominant land use. The North Coast railway line also marks a section of the eastern boundary. Wyaralong Dam
The Wyaralong Dam is a mass concrete gravity dam with an un-gated spillway across the Teviot Brook that is located in the South East region of Queensland, Australia. The main purpose of the dam is for supply of potable water for the Scenic Rim region. The dam was initiated by the Queensland Government in 2006 as a result of the prolonged Millennium drought which saw the catchment areas of South East Queensland's dams receive record low rain. It was completed in 2011. Location and features The dam is located approximately north-west of . The dam wall itself is split between the localities of Wyaralong and Allenview, but the bulk of impounded water is within Wyaralong. The Wyaralong Dam was completed prior to the 2010–2011 Queensland floods. Coulson is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , Coulson had a population of 195 people. Geography Ipswich – Boonah Road (State Route 93) runs through from north-west to south-west. Beaudesert–Boonah Road (State Route 90) runs east from an intersection with this road, exiting to the north-east. Coulson is crossed by Teviot Brook, a tributary of the Logan River, at the southern end of the Flinders Peak Group. River Teviot
The River Teviot (; gd, Abhainn Tìbhiot), or Teviot Water, is a river of the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, and is the largest tributary of the River Tweed by catchment area. The Teviot is an important river for wildlife, especially the Atlantic salmon, but in recent years has witnessed at least four extreme flooding events. Course It rises in the western foothills of Comb Hill on the border of Dumfries and Galloway. It flows north-eastwards through Teviotdale and past Teviothead, the Colterscleuch Monument, Broadhaugh, Branxholme and Branxholme Castle. The Sydney–Brisbane railway corridor is a long standard-gauge railway corridor that connects the state capitals of Brisbane (Queensland) and Sydney (New South Wales) in Australia. Mount Alford, Queensland
Mount Alford is a rural town and locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Mount Alford had a population of 268 people. Geography Mount Alford is a typical scenic Rim community surrounded by rich agricultural land. Teviot Brook passes just to the east of the town. Downstream is the Wyaralong Dam. Erosion along Blackrock Creek has prompted the Scenic Rim Regional Council and SEQ Catchments to implement on-farm infrastructure and land management practice changes to reduce sediment runoff and improve water quality. Boonah is a rural town and locality in the Scenic Rim Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the locality of Boonah had a population of 2,484 people. Geography The town is positioned near the Fassifern Valley, McPherson Range and Main Range. It is surrounded by hills, including Mount French and other Moogerah Peaks. Frog Buttress is a popular rock climbing cliff on the north-west side of Mount French. The Wyaralong Dam was constructed east of Boonah on Teviot Brook, a tributary of the Logan River. Clarence Moreton Basin
The Clarence Moreton Basin is a Mesozoic sedimentary basin on the easternmost part of the Australian continent. It is located in the far north east of the state of New South Wales around Lismore and Grafton and in the south east corner of Queensland. It is the part of the Great Artesian Basin that extends to the east coast in Australia's central eastern lowlands. Description It formed by oblique extension of the underlying Paleozoic New England Orogen basement.
