Pazarcık () is a municipality and district of Kahramanmaraş Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,253 km2, and its population is 70,173 (2022). It is in the southeastern part of the province. The cement plant is a major source of greenhouse gas. The town includes Abdals of the Kara Hüseyinler tribe. On 6 February 2023, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Pazarcik. Kurdish Alevism
Kurdish Alevism ( or ) refers to the unique rituals, sacred place practices, mythological discourses and socio-religious organizations among Kurds who adhere to Alevism. Kurdish Alevis consider their hereditary sacred lineages as semi-deific figures, often have beliefs more rooted in nature veneration, and put more emphasis on Pir Sultan Abdal as their religious symbol, unlike Turkish Alevis who emphasize the role of Haji Bektash Veli. Some Kurdish Alevis argue that their beliefs are related to Yarsanism and Yazidism. Abdals (ethnic Group In West Asia)
The Abdals () are a largely Turkish-speaking ethnic group found in much of Anatolia and parts of the Balkans and Syria, who follow an itinerant lifestyle. This lifestyle is closely connected with the activity of music making at weddings and circumcision parties. Other occupations associated with the Abdal include tinning, basket making and sieve manufacture. Names Abdals use the endonym Teber. Abdals were registered in Ottoman records as Turkoman Gypsies (), which denoted Abdals’ tribal affiliations with Turkomans but different ethnic or social origin.
