''Tesnusocaris goldichi'' is an extinct species of remipedian crustacean that lived in the Pennsylvanian (geology), Pennsylvanian period, the one of the two representatives of the extinct remipedian Order (biology), Order Enantiopoda. Its fossil is from the Lower Pennsylvanian (Paleozoic, Carboniferous) Tesnus formation, Texas. The other known enantiopod remipedian is ''Cryptocaris hootchi'' of the Mazon Creek fauna. References

Remipedia
Remipedia is a class of blind crustaceans found in coastal aquifers which contain saline groundwater, with populations identified in almost every ocean basin so far explored, including in Australia, the Caribbean Sea, and the Atlantic Ocean. The first described remipede was the fossil ''Tesnusocaris goldichi'' (Early Pennsylvanian, Lower Pennsylvanian). Since 1979, at least seventeen living species have been identified in subtropical regions around the world. Description Remipedes are long and comprise a head and an elongate trunk of up to thirty-two similar body segments. Pigmentation and eyes are absent. Biramous swimming appendages are laterally present on each segment. The animals swim on their backs and are generally slow-moving. Mazon Creek
The Mazon Creek fossil beds are a conservation ' found near Morris, in Grundy County, Illinois. The fossils are preserved in ironstone concretions, formed approximately in the mid- Pennsylvanian epoch of the Carboniferous period. These concretions frequently preserve both hard and soft tissues of animal and plant materials, as well as many soft-bodied organisms that do not normally fossilize. The quality, quantity and diversity of fossils in the area, known since the mid-nineteenth century, make the Mazon Creek ' important to paleontologists, in attempting to reconstruct the paleoecology of the sites. Tesnus Formation
Tesnus is a ghost town and unincorporated community in Brewster County, in the U.S. state of Texas. History Tesnus was laid out in 1882 when the Southern Pacific Railroad was extended to that point. Tesnus (sunset spelled backwards) was so named for the fact a sunset appeared in the logo of the Southern Pacific Railroad. A post office was established at Tesnus in 1912, and remained in operation until 1954.
