Shaun Terence Young (20 June 1915 – 7 September 1994) was an Irish film director and screenwriter who worked in the United Kingdom, Europe and Hollywood. He is best known for directing three James Bond films, including the first two films in the series, '' Dr. No'' (1962) and '' From Russia with Love'' (1963), as well as '' Thunderball'' (1965). His other films include the Audrey Hepburn thrillers ''Wait Until Dark'' (1967) and ''Bloodline'' (1979), the historical drama ''Mayerling'' (1968), the infamous Korean War epic '' Inchon'' (1981), and the Charles Bronson films ''Cold Sweat'' (1970), ''Red Sun'' (1971), and ''The Valachi Papers'' (1972). Terence Hart Young (born July 24, 1952) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a Conservative member of the House of Commons of Canada from 2008 to 2015 who represented the riding of Oakville. Previously, Young was a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario between 1995 and 1999. Background Young was born in Toronto, Ontario. His father was an Anglican minister at St. Anne's Anglican Church in Toronto's west end. Young's mother Judith is a member of the Massey family. His great uncle Denton Massey represented the riding of Greenwood in Toronto in parliament from 1935 until 1949, and is related to Raymond Massey. He received his B.A. in Political and Social Science from York University in 1975 and attended Osgoode Hall Law School for one year, before pursuing a business career. Terence Young (born 1953) is a Canadian writer. He is most noted for his poetry collection ''The Island in Winter'', which was shortlisted for the Governor General's Award for English-language poetry at the 1999 Governor General's Awards and for the Gerald Lampert Award in 2000. ''The Island in Winter'' was his debut poetry collection. The following year he published his first short story collection, ''Rhymes with Useless''. He followed up with the novel ''After Goodlake's'' in 2004, the poetry collection ''Moving Day'' in 2006, and the short story collection ''The End of the Ice Age'' in 2010. ''Rhymes with Useless'' was a finalist for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award in 2001, ''After Goodlake's'' won the city of Victoria's Butler Book Prize in 2005, and ''Moving Day'' was a finalist for the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize in 2007. Terry James Young (born 20 February 1968) is an Australian politician who has been a member of the House of Representatives since the 2019 federal election, representing the Division of Longman in Queensland. He is a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and sits with the Liberal Party in federal parliament. Early life Young was born on 20 February 1968 in Brisbane, Queensland.
