Terry Kennedy (rugby Union, Born 1996)
Terry Kennedy (born 4 July 1996) is an Irish rugby union player who has played for the Ireland national rugby sevens team since 2016. Kennedy was a member of the Irish team that won the silver medals of 2017 Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series. He also helped Ireland win the 2018 Moscow Sevens tournament — he scored two tries in the final as Ireland defeated Germany 28–7, and was the leading try scorer in the tournament overall with nine tries. Kennedy scored a try in the final of the 2019 Hong Kong Sevens qualifier to help Ireland defeat Hong Kong 28–7 and qualify for the 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series. He was named as a member of the HSBC Dream Team, as well as being crowned the Top Try Scorer for the 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series. St Mary's College RFC
St Mary's College Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in South Dublin, Ireland, playing in Division 1B of the All-Ireland League. The club was founded in 1900 by former pupils of St. Mary's College, Dublin and was originally known as Old St Mary's. They club won the Leinster Senior Cup for the first time in 1958. In 2000 they won the AIB League for the first time under the captaincy of Trevor Brennan. The club was formerly sited at College Drive, Templeogue from 1955 until the 1970s, including clubhouse and grounds which have since been developed as ''Fortfield Square'' apartments. In the 1970s, the club moved to Templeville Road to rugby grounds formerly owned and used by Templeogue College, the Holy Ghost Fathers sister school of St Mary's College. 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens
The 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens was the eighth edition of the Rugby World Cup Sevens organised by World Rugby. The 2022 tournament, comprising 24 men's and 16 women's teams as previously, was played over three days in one venue in September. It took place at the Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa between 9 and 11 September 2022. It was the first ever Rugby World Cup Sevens in Africa. The dates were chosen to take into account in the Commonwealth Games tournament which took place in July the same year. Bidding A record 11 unions formally expressed interest in hosting Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022. Terence Joseph Kennedy (born 19 October 1954) is an Irish former rugby union international. A St Mary's College product, Kennedy was a winger known as "the Rat" who played for Leinster at provincial level and earned 13 Test caps for Ireland, debuting against the All Blacks at Lansdowne Road in 1978. He was a member of Ireland's historic 1979 series win in Australia, which the first triumph by a home nation in a southern hemisphere country.
