Terry Farley
Terry Farley is a British DJ, remixer and producer from London, active since the mid-1980s. Career Farley started out going to clubs in the late 1970s and first visited Ibiza in 1982. He then started working as a DJ, performing at the same clubs and shows as Paul Oakenfold. He started out by playing reggae and groove music, but by 1987 switched to house music with tracks like "Jack the Groove" by Raze. In 1986, he co-founded the fanzine '' Boy's Own'' with Andrew Weatherall and others. Savage, Jon.Boy's Club. Come Together (Primal Scream Song)
"Come Together" is a song by Scottish rock band Primal Scream, released in August 1990 as the second single from their third studio album ''Screamadelica'' (1991). The song peaked at number 26 on the UK Singles Chart. The single versions of the song, mixed by Terry Farley, are radically different from the album version which was mixed by Andrew Weatherall. Whilst the Farley mix follows a standard pop song structure, Weatherall's extended album mix is more influenced by house music and dub mixes and features none of Bobby Gillespie's vocals. In the US, the single was released as a double A-side with the band's previous single "Loaded". A shorter edit of the song was featured on the compilation Trainspotting #2. "Loaded" is a song by Scottish rock band Primal Scream, released on 19 February 1990 as the lead single from their third studio album '' Screamadelica'' (1991). Mixed and produced by Andrew Weatherall, it is a remix of an earlier song titled "I'm Losing More Than I'll Ever Have". In 2014, ''NME'' placed the song at number 59 in its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Inspiration and composition Primal Scream first became aware of Andrew Weatherall after he published a favourable review of their eponymous second album in the ''Boys Own'' fanzine. Primal Scream
Primal Scream are a Scottish rock band originally formed in 1982 in Glasgow by Bobby Gillespie (vocals) and Jim Beattie. The band's current lineup consists of Gillespie, Andrew Innes (guitar), Simone Butler (bass), and Darrin Mooney (drums). Barrie Cadogan has toured and recorded with the band since 2006 as a replacement after the departure of guitarist Robert "Throb" Young. Primal Scream had been performing live from 1982 to 1984, but their career did not take off until Gillespie left his position as drummer of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Happy Mondays
Happy Mondays are an English rock band formed in Salford in 1980. The original line-up was Shaun Ryder (vocals), his brother Paul Ryder ( bass), Gary Whelan (drums), Paul Davis (keyboard), and Mark Day (guitar). Mark "Bez" Berry later joined the band onstage as a dancer/percussionist. Rowetta joined as a second vocalist in 1990. They were initially signed to Tony Wilson's Factory Records label. The group's work bridged the Manchester independent rock music of the 1980s and the emerging UK rave scene, drawing influence from funk, house, and psychedelia to pioneer the Madchester sound. FFRR Records
FFRR Records (sometimes credited as Full Frequency Range Recordings) is a dance music label previously run and founded by English DJ Pete Tong. Originally the dance music label of London Records, FFRR is currently a sublabel of Parlophone, a division of Warner Music Group. The label name references the recording technique (full frequency range recording) developed by Sir Edward Lewis's Decca Records. The original incarnation of FFRR was founded in 1986, and also had two subsidiaries: Double F Double R Records and Ffrreedom Records. The label's ear logo was copied from the original FFRR logo source, as found at the top of the London Records logo. The label name was stylized as ffrr, rather than FFRR. Ultra Flava
"Ultra Flava" is a house song by British duo Heller and Farley Project (Pete Heller and Terry Farley). After the wide renown with their remix of Ultra Naté's "How Long" in 1994 and M People's " Open Your Heart" in 1995, they released it as a single in 1996. It is a slightly re-worked version of their mix of "How Long", without Naté's vocals. They entitled it "Ultra Flava" as a nod to the track's origins. It was a huge club hit and peaked at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart, while reaching number-one on the UK Dance Singles Chart. "Shout to the Top!" is a song by the English band the Style Council which was their seventh single to be released. It was composed by lead singer Paul Weller, and was released in 1984. It appears on the ''Vision Quest (film), Vision Quest'' soundtrack in the United States. The song also appears on the deluxe edition of ''Our Favourite Shop'' (1985), and features in the film ''Billy Elliot'' (2000) and on its soundtrack. Fire Island are an English house music duo, made up of Record producer, producers and remixers Pete Heller and Terry Farley. Both are prolific musicians who have an extensive list of remixes to their credit, using the Fire Island moniker and also being billed as Heller & Farley Project, Roach Motel or Farley & Heller. As Fire Island, they hit number one on the United States, US Hot Dance Club Songs, Hot Dance Music/Club Play Record chart, chart in 1998 with "Shout to the Top!, Shout to the Top", a song originally recorded by the Style Council in 1984 and with lead vocals supplied by Loleatta Holloway.
