Tero Kalliolevo
Tero Kalliolevo (born 1977) from Finland is the Nordic countries' most successful quiz player in international competitions. In 2007 he won his first European Quizzing Championships medal in the pair competition with compatriot Jussi Suvanto behind Belgians Erik Derycke/Tom Trogh. In 2008 he won a singles bronze medal at the World Quizzing Championships even edging out superstar Kevin Ashman. Only Mark Bytheway and Ronny Swiggers were better. At the European Quizzing Championships 2008 in Norway he finished in 5th place (singles), even with Suvanto. Together they came in 4th in the doubles competition. With the club ''JFGI'' (Tero Kalliolevo, Jussi Suvanto, Estonians Ove Põder and Tauno Vahter) he edged out Ashman's ''Milhous Warriors'' for Bronze. The Nordic Quizzing Championships is a bi-annual quiz event in the Nordic and Baltic countries. Mark Bytheway (22 July 1963 – 9 July 2010) was an England International Quiz player best known for becoming Quizzing World Champion in 2008 and winning the ''Top Brain'' competition of Brain of Britain. Brain of Britain In 2007 he won Brain of Britain and in 2008 won the 3-year competition ''Brain of Brains'' beating TV's Egghead Chris Hughes and rival Pat Gibson and 9-year competition ''Top Brain'' titles, succeeding Kevin Ashman as holder. Pat Gibson
Patrick Gibson (born 19 July 1961) is an Irish quizzer. On 24 April 2004 he became the fourth contestant to win the £1m jackpot on the quiz show ''Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?''. He is a multiple world champion in quizzing and one of the world's most successful quiz players. He is best known for winning several quiz shows and being a panellist on '' Eggheads''. He was born, raised and educated in Ireland but currently lives in the United Kingdom and competes as part of the England quiz team. Nico Pattyn
Nico Pattyn (born on 26 October 1968, in Roeselare, Belgium) is one of Belgium's most successful quiz players. He became European Quizzing Championships, European Quizzing Champion in November 2007, claiming the title in Blackpool. He was the first to beat English quiz legend, Kevin Ashman at the European championships individuals. He also won an individual silver medal at the first European Quizzing Championships in 2004 in his hometown Ghent and in 2013 in Liverpool, behind his compatriot Ronny Swiggers. In 2005 and 2006, Pattyn came in 3rd place on two occasions in the World Quizzing Championships. He has placed in the top twenty of the World Championships on every occasion. Stein Olav Bjortomt (pronounced Bortom) (born 13 December 1978 in Eastbourne) is an English international quiz player, four-time world champion (2003, 2015, 2018, 2019) and three time individual European champion (2010, 2014, 2015). He is the star player of the world's most successful quizzing clubs, Broken Hearts, with which he has won several European championships. Kevin Clifford Ashman (born 2 November 1959) is an English quiz player. He is often considered one of the greatest quizzers in the world, and since 2002 has been a professional quizzer; he has been an '' Egghead'' since 2003. He has won most of the top-level quiz tournaments in which he has taken part, among them several World and European Championships. Early life Ashman is from Winchester, Hampshire, He attended St Bede's Primary School and Peter Symonds Grammar School/College. World Quizzing Championships
The World Quizzing Championships is an individual quiz contest organised by the International Quizzing Association (the umbrella organisation of various quizzing organisations from more than 25 countries around the world). The competition has been staged annually since (since 2004 in more than one country simultaneously) with an increasing number of contestants from an increasing number of nations. Since 2006, the competition has been staged on the first Saturday of every June. As of 2022, Pat Gibson and Jesse Honey, both from England, hold the title for the highest-scoring quizzers with 186 out of 240 total points.
